Size changes after stopping BFing

I have been a EPer since DD was two months and I just pumped for the last time on Saturday. I want to buy some new bras but I'm not sure how long I should wait after stopping. I'm sure it varies for each person, but for those that have stopped how long did it take for your breast size to go to its new normal?

I am sure it's different with everyone due to how often your were nursing/pumping, and what kind of supply you have, and how quickly you stop.

For myself it was very gradual since the beginning. When DD was a NB, I was a 34D, but by around 6 months I had already dropped down to a 34C. At around 11 or 12 months, I dropped down to a 34B. I was still nursing and pumping while at work. I stopped pumping at work about 3 weeks ago. Pre-pregnancy with both girls I was a 34B. I am still nursing and have already dropped back to my original size.

It took me a month before I was finally "back" to normal size. I was 36D (very full D) before pregnancy, went up to very full DD but now, barely filling out a C on a good day. I love the smaller size. Much more comfortable on my back, looks more proportional in my clothes, etc. I'd give it a few weeks for sure. I stuck with sports bras until I was sure everything had settled.

Thanks ladies. I always had supply issues and it didn't take me long before I felt comfortable after dropping a pump so I think I'm probably close to where I will end up. I'm probably about at 34B now which is slightly bigger than I was before because I was kind of in between an A and a B. I lived in the bravado basics nursing tanks from Target for the last year.

With DS I stayed a cup and band size bigger. I'm still bf DD and the fluctuate all the time, I never know if my good bra will fir or be too small!

I tried on my pre pregnancy bras the other day, and they don't fit at all. I'm still wearing my nursing bras since they fit way better... I really need to bite that bullet.

I was a 34C pre-pregnancy and went up to a 38DD while nursing. When I stopped nursing, it took me about 8 weeks to fit comfortably in my old 34C bras again, although I am always sort of spilling out. I am chalking some of that up to some weight gain I haven't shifted because I had knee surgery in July and have only just started to be able to granny jog again. I hope they settle down the rest of the way because spilling out a bit means that a lot of my tops have become inadvertently very risque.

I would give it a few months (2-3 months) since its your first to see what your body does. I've nursed 3 kids at least a year each (all back to back) and honestly after they weaned I noticed no difference in size. The only difference I ever had is I'm bigger now than prior to having my first baby (and I'm only 5# heavier). I was a 34 full C prior to kids and now I'm a 34 DDD (I get large the first month after birth but only to like a 34E/F until my body adjusts). Its awful because even though weight wise I should be able to wear all my old shirts but because of the girls they all look a bit not appropriate anymore.

I stayed a full cup size larger after BFing. I was a 36C before and now I'm solid at a 36D (was DD when DS was a NB). I would suggest waiting a month and checking again to see what size fits you. It's not hard to measure yourself or go in and be measured (and it's free!) so definitely do that. The person who sizes you (at JCP, at least) should be able to tell you what types of bras will give you the best fit as well.
