Too many BM's?

DS still has several BM's in a day even while on solids and WCM. He usually has a significant one in the morning and another in the evening and a few "smears" as we like to call them, throughout the day. I am chalking it up to teething but has anyone experienced this and found out it was because of something else like an allergy. Some are more liquid than others which leads to a nasty diaper rash but most are more on the solid side. I was totally under the impression that BM's would decrease as they started eating more solids and drinking WCM but that has yet to happen for us! He has been very regular since birth!

    It sounds normal to me, they go through phases with BMs that seemingly have no rhyme or reason to them but unless it's causing significant issues, I wouldn't worry.

    I recently brought dd to a pediatric gastroenterologist for constipation issues and he said at this age, anywhere from 8 a day to once every 2 weeks is normal! He said as long as they don't have discomfort, any frequency is fine.

    I would say we average 3/day, but sometimes 5. It's just the way he is.

    Normal. DD is 1-3 a day at 20months. Usually, twice a day. They range from solid to peanut butter consistency.

    Teething doesn't increase her frequency or change the consistency, but for some reason does cause diaper rash. That is the only time she gets a rash.

    Such a relief! Being a FTM I never know what is normal and searching on Google just adds more hysteria to what I think it *could* be! That's why I love these message boards!! Thanks ladies!
