C-section mamas, help!

So I'm 4 months PP and feel like crap. My incision site feels great but my whole entire lower stomach is bothering me. I still don't have feeling back and the whole entire right side is numb still. If I lean up against something with my stomach it hurts.. example - when I'm changing LO my tummy will press up against the change table and it hurts still. If LO lays on my tummy, it hurts. Sometimes, I randomly get a fair amount of pain and it makes me sick to my stomach so I end up taking Tylenol. I had an emergency csection, not sure if that makes a difference or not. Anyone else not feeling themselves still? I know it can take up to a year to completely heal...but this is just annoying.

  • I had an emergency c/s as well and am not in pain like that. Everyone is different and I know it can take that long to heal but that sounds like too much pain. Have you talked to your doctor about it yet? I guess that's what I would do if I was still in that much pain.

I've been to my OB twice. Each time all they say is it takes up to a year to heal but they give no reason as to why or what causes the pain. It doesn't cause me to not function properly, it's more annoying than anything since I thought I'd be feeling back to normal by now.

  • I had an emergency c-section as well. My incision is still sore from time to time and if I lean up against something too hard or if LO kicks or sits on it weird I still feel some pain. I definitely still have a lot of numbness around the incision as well. I feel twinges of sharp pain every now and then which is probably part of the nerve and muscle healing process. I think as long as there are no signs of infection and it doesn't get worse your okay. But if you really feel like something isn't right keep going to the doctor.

  • I had a planned c-section.  I have a spot that is still numb and for about the first 8 weeks some spots that were very painful and had burning sensations.  According to my doctor it is all nerve damage.

She said if the feeling doesn't come back in the numb spots after 6 months it may never come back.  She said the painful nerve damage I experienced isn't as common but that could stick around for a while, too.  She stopped short of saying forever but I have a feeling she didn't want to freak me out at my 6 week PP visit.  The pain pretty much stopped after 8 weeks.
