I'm sorry...

edited January 2014 in June 2013 Moms
I want to apologize for offending people with my UO. Perhaps lack of sleep has gotten to me, and I wasn't really thinking about who I might hurt by saying what I did. I am sorry that my believes have been misunderstood, and offensive to you.

I am a bible believing Christian, who believes that Christ should be involved in every aspect of peoples lives. I do cling to a more traditional set of believes when it comes to having/raising a family.

I understand why what I said about DCP's "raising" other peoples children was both harsh, and uncalled for. I simply meant and should have said that, I don't PERSONALLY want my child spending more awake hours with someone besides me/my DH. I want to be the first to see milestone happen. I want to be the one who comforts my baby when they are upset. NOW before that get misconstrued, I am not saying that you don't want to see them, and that you aren't all entitled to your jobs/careers if you choose to have them. But personally it's not or my family.

I hope you accept my apology, as it again was not my intent to ruffle this many feathers when I posted at 3:30 this morning

  • Wasn't there a HIMYM episode about how nothing good happens after 2am?

  • @MrsWilson31012, you make me -- a chill crunchy hippy yogi chick who happens to work in business -- totally ragey.  I am attachment parenting whilst carrying my family's future on my shoulders.  Even though I am not the target of your UO because I have to work, I struggle to understand your POV.  Like PPs said, we ALL want to be there for those milestones;  we all want to be the ones comforting our children.  And suggesting that daycare is a subpar option for our littles is just shitty.  There is no way not to make us upset when you say that.

Speaking of which:  Do you have a degree in Early Childhood Education?  I don't.  And LO's teachers do.  They know far more about how to stimulate a baby and encourage him/her to reach milestones than I ever will from my instincts or from reading a few books.  I am so grateful for the love, support, and direction they give him, and for the social interaction he gets playing with the other LOs because man is he learning a lot about love right now from all corners.

Consider backing away from the bump and coming back to us later down the line with a bit more compassion -- and please stop using your god as an excuse.  I'm pretty sure he wouldn't appreciate it.
