3rd Trimester

Easier Labor w/ raspberry leaf tea?

My doula recommended drinking this everyday during third trimester and these reviews seem very convincing. Jumping on the bandwagon.

Anyone have a testimonial regarding effectiveness of raspberry leaf tea?

Re: Easier Labor w/ raspberry leaf tea?

  • I drank it with my first....I think I only did it the last month though. Not sure if it was the tea or not but I had a very easy labor/delivery with DD. I'll be drinking it again this time too.

  • I'm drinking it daily. I haven't found any strong evidence that it works, but it does seem to amp up the BH contractions. I'm really hoping for a VBAC, so I'm trying this a whole lot of other "natural" ideas, mostly so I feel like I gave it my best shot. :-) They may not work, but they'll help me feel like I'm trying!

  • Can't say it helped me at all, I still had a 46 hour labor.
  • Is it just this specific brand, or any raspberry leaf tea?? And what about it is supposed to help with labor? Why just this tea?

  • I did it last time and this time around 35 wks. It does seem to amp up BH contractions so I think it does something. It doesn't hurt, at least. Last labor was 5 hrs. We'll see this time.

I think it's supposed to strengthen your uterus for more effective contractions.
Eta: brand doesn't matter, but it needs to be "leaf" tea and not just raspberry tea.

It is claimed to strengthen your uterus for more effective contractions. If you read the reviews of any raspberry leaf tea on amazon the testimonials are endless. I figured it doesn't hurt to try. I've had a terrible pregnancy so anything I can do to ease L&D will be worth a try.

I drank it during my third tri with my first pregnancy and am doing it again. I started pushing 10 hours after my water broke. My contractions were unreal....off the charts. I had to get an epidural, but all in all it was a quick labor in my book so I'm hoping it goes the same again.
I wanted to add that I also saw a chiropractor a few times before I went into labor which I also contribute my success to. They get everything all lined up which is supposed to help baby get out quicker and easier.

  • I drank it. Very easy l&d.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • Drank it for both pregnancies starting at 38 weeks. 4 to 5 times a day.

    DD's labor was four hours.
    DS's labor was 12 hours.
