Book Rec: When Your Expecting Twins, Triplets and Quads

Just got done reading this book and LOVE IT. Great book for twin pregnancy and infancy! I have read several others some more narrative and others like this which is more informative. Def gave me a better feel for bed rest, diet , nicu, and feeding newborn twins.

  • Several people have recommended that - I need to pick it up (or download it on our ipads so both DH and I can read it). Thanks for the reminder.

  • I agree this is a great book. I found that some advice is hard to follow, but it really puts in perspective how important it is to eat right, drink enough water, and rest enough to get your babies to their maximum gestation age and weight.
  • Hehe I just logged in to post my recommendation for this book :)
  • Cool, just ordered it from half.com

  • I agree, it was a great book. I had to take some of the nutritional/diet recommendations with a grain of salt. The number of calories for a triplet pregnancy was insane, I physically could not eat that much food!

Yeah, the nutrition I had a hard time with. It was tough reading how much I should be eating/gaining when I was just losing, losing, losing from nausea/vomiting! You can only do your best.

But I did like the part about drink all the milkshakes!!! lol :)

  • I love that book - I think I've read it at least twice now.  Maybe I'll be able to remember it this time, LOL.

  • I liked the book. Gave me the illusion of control during my twin pregnancy. While my ob was lax about giving diet advice. I consulted dr Luke's book and tried my best to eat protein and a variety of super foods.

  • So funny, my insurance offers a maternity program and gives me a free book and this is one of my options. However I was going to pick another choice "What to Expect: the First Year" since I already have "What to do When Your Having Two" and some pregnancy book from my OB. As a FTM would you still suggest this book over "The First Year" when I already have two pregnancy books? Or is it that good it'd still be worth getting?
