Apologies if this has come up in the previous sleep threads (we've had one or two) And apologies for the long winded question!
Until recently I have been blessed and thankful for a baby who will STTN, that said, he would not really sleep during the day. Fine, as he was getting an adequate amount of sleep for his age and it wasn't messing with his demeanor.
Since traveling over Christmas and his subsequent virus post Chirstmas he is just not sleeping enough and has been a cranky butt because of it. He is a real treat (insert sarcasm) to get to sleep at night. He is up multiple times at night and he is refusing napping during the day. UNLESS I drive him (a bad habit developed while traveling, I'm trying to put the kabosh on it but by 3p and no nap, I have been giving in)
My question is... how do you ladies do naps? I'm sorry if that sounds broad and nieve. Everytime I've tried just putting him in the crib he plays and scoots around and eventually cries. But ends up more awake. I sometimes can dance him to sleep (in my arms or a wrap) but the second I put him down... Bing! Wide awake.
Tia. Any thoughts or links to previous discussion is appreciated

Sorry this was a bit of a rant too!
Re: Not enough sleep for baby
@34blondie I'm working on consistency
I put them down drowsy in their cribs and turn on a little music thing that plays for a few minutes.
I agree the time window makes all the difference. If I miss the window they nap horribly or won't go down at all.
