The Mega ultimate baby registry list :)

EDIT: So it's been brought to my attention there was another thread similar (to my original question) about registry essentials, so I'm modifying the question to make it different and maybe  fun :) So not just essentials, what are the ultimate mega awesome things you'd love to have or purchased  on/from your registry?  Or if you just want to post things you think were life savers for you, or really whatever, go ahead! Let's just have fun with it :)

Aww crap. Sorry for the repost then.  I totally missed this one.  Well, I don't necessarily mean bare essentials, I really want to know all of what other people are putting, crazy in all :).  So I guess I'll just leave it up for now and modify the question and see what everyone thinks :) If it flops, we'll just get rid of it.

  • I'll go Super Duper crazy and say a new hybrid Tahoe or I'll take a Honda Pilot. I LOVE my new Subaru but something with a 3rd row seat would be awesome

And yes to the Mamaroo swing!

So totally breaking my promise of not bumping because I have a ton of work to do, but I needed like 3 minutes and saw this thread...anyway...I have a friend who is due any day now and got one of these at her shower...hoping by the time my little guy is born, hers will be too big and maybe she'll let me try it out ;) Definitely looks cool, but don't know that it fits in the budget otherwise!

I'm currently selling my Subaru WRX for a Jeep. WE LOVE SUBARU!  My DH talked me into it.  I've been sobbing over it for days because I'm a big baby and my car was my first baby.  But I totally feel ya on the 3rd row seating.  This one we are buying has a pop up 3rd row, so not the best third row option, but we camp a lot and take the dogs everywhere so the extra room in the back is very needed.

  • A swing is necessity for my kids. And a vibrating bouncer saved me with my first LO, with PPD, and a colicky baby that only slept 4hrs a day. The vibrations and music calmed him for 10-15 minute intervals and was heaven for me. He slept 4hrs a day and I slept 3.5. This went on until he was 3mos old. Bouncer and Swing are my only "Must haves
  • Am I crazy for saying watching a mamaroo gives me motion sickness? lol. No, really.
  • Mamaroo, and I'm hoping this car seat is out before June! ;) I can dream right. Lol also the stroller is pretty awesome! My daughter dances competitively and I'm always hauling stroller dance bag and costume rolling case. It would be awesome to push a button and go.

  • @MrsRahl we are big outdoorsy people too. We signed the lease for my Impreza three weeks before I found out I was PG so maybe Hubs will trade in his car for something bigger so we can have the best of both worlds. Wish the Tribeca wasn't such a tank, then we'd stay with Subaru

I actually leaned my upper body on it to feel the ride haha and it's very smooth and fun! But  I can totally see the motion sickness part!

Yeah, like I said we LOVE subaru and my FIL is a Subaru mechanic for 25+ years, but my DH doesn't like the Tribeca :( says he doesn't like how it drives.  He's always secretly wanted a Jeep and oh how conveniently he found one ;) I will admit it's very nice though, but I'm nervous about leaving the subaru family! My WRX is 10 yrs old and we were able to sell it for $7,500.  Subaru's really have a great resell value!

We have a 2013 Honda Pilot and it's the best thing ever.. especially w/ 4 step kids and one on way.. 3rd row saved my life :)

Ooo, yes I'll take that too! Love the Origami Stroller but smaller version and car seat. Nice. I just don't love the price however.

  • One thing that I LOVE but was definitely an extra purchase was our Ciao Baby! portable highchair.  It folds up like a camping chair (in a cloth bag with a strap to carry) but instead of a regular chair it's a highchair.  We've used it for our DD for two summers now at every BBQ, picnic, camping trip, etc.  It also makes a nice second highchair if we have company with a little one.

(Not my baby...just images from Google.  :) )

Currently on sale for $56 on Amazon.  Clearly not necessary or super cheap, but was a great purchase for us!

  • Mamaroo and a nice breast pump... not sure if the pump is really worth it, though? Any STMs wanna weigh in? I will be going back to work FT and want to pump to have something for my mom to feed baby while she watches him/her during the day - and for DH to help with night feedings.

  • What Jeep are you getting? We're a Jeep family, but DH is getting ready to sell his for something with more rear seating space. We have a Cherokee that has no backseat space.

  • Well thank you ladies for introducing me to the 4moms website and also this crazy mamaroo thing. I'm thinking that the mamaroo is a "must-have" (lol) because why have 2 separate items (swing and bouncer) when you can have 1 compact item?! H will love this! (insert extreme sarcasm)

I really want this because we camp a LOT. But did you ever have problems with baby tipping over? Camp chairs we fall over in all the time lol. (And no we weren't always drunk lol)

LOL, before I reached the end of your sentence I was already thinking "they must have been drunk!".  :)

We have not had any problems with it tipping over.  It's a little shorter than our chairs so maybe that helps?  I mean, I wouldn't set it up at the edge of a scenic cliff or anything, but it hasn't tipped for us.

  • @snowpants, @MrsRahl, a PSA for you! I just saw this on today's Woot:

    https://kids.woot.com/

It's only for sale today until midnight...that's how woot works. If you check the link after midnight tonight, it won't be the Ciao! chair, but it is right now! It's about $30 off, looks like :)

haha sometimes we camp in some sloped places that don't have very flat ground (property of my in-laws, so it's not like a smooth campground site) so if we lean too far one way or whatever it can happen! LOL!

I like that you posted this, it's been awhile since that registry thread and this wasn't an annoying duplicate post to me :P

I am also working on my registry though so I may just be feeling selfish and eagerly awaiting to hear everyone's responses! haha

  • I just got a Wrapsody Duo. I wanted a wrap light enough for summer and this one is also water friendly. With a 3 yr old running around, I'll probably wear this LO a lot and the ergo is just to hot for the summer.

  • If it's the flower thing that goes in the sink then yes, I've used it. My BFF had one for her lil man. By the time they are big enough to be out of the sink they don't need a bath. I liked it. She just tossed it in the dryer.
  • My older sister actually offers this as a present to friends and family! I'm not sure if you can register for it or what would be an appropriate way to ask for it would be though...

    Does maid/cleaning service count?

(I'd never register for something like that, but wouldn't it be nice)

Hey I'd have no shame putting that on my "MyRegistry.com" registry and I know my family wouldn't be offended at all. In fact, I know most would think it was a good idea! LOL  With that site, it's nice because you can sync all your registries into one, or add random things from all different websites including etsy!
    imageBabyFruit Ticker
  • @MrsRahl, I didnt even think of that idea! Great idea. I think a lot of moms out there would appreciate it!
