I absolutely LOVE our NICU and the nurses that work in it! They let us be very hands on and I'm already comfortable doing a lot with my preemies! (I was terrified before!!!) I've been told I could be a NICU nurse and dubbed the very involved and independent mommy. I wouldn't want it any other way!!! I highly suggest you be as involved as you can during your NICU stay! And do kangaroo care as much as possible!!!

    Love the pic! I agree; being involved was one of the best parts. Our nurses were open to letting me help with anything I wanted to and it made the time so much better. I felt like I was doing something and not just sitting while other people took care of DS. 





    I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.

    Hi @nblondheim I'm from your M14 board! I just found this board so I'm happy. I finally got to hold my baby today (she was born on Saturday) I requested to do kangaroo care because I had seen your pics. They said of course, and I'm allowed to do it twice a day. She absolutely loves it, and of course I am on heaven! I do all of her diaper changes and temps throughout the day. It really is helping to be involved, at first I was terrified, and I had no idea how to handle it. I'm quickly becoming a pro;). Good luck to you and your super cute babes!:)
