Night sleep

I asked about naps so I might as well ask about nighttime too. When is bed? If LO wakes in the MOTN what time is it normally? When do they wake?

Re: Night sleep

  • She goes to bed anytime better 11 and 12 wakes up between 3 and 4 and then usually every hour until between 8 and 9.

  • She goes down around 8:30. Normally doesn't wake up until 6, when I wake her during the week. On the weekends she'll sleep until 6:30-7:30. She's been waking up recently around 4:30 because we just moved her from the RnP to the PnP and she's breaking out of her swaddle.

  • 7:30 bed time every night. If he wakes, it varies.

  • LO goes to bed anytime between 9-10 pm. Lately it's been on the early end of that time frame. She wakes up between 6-8 am. Don't hate on me 'cause my girl likes to sleep! (*knocks on wood*)

  • Bedtime is anywhere from 6-730 based on his last nap. We do a 10pm dream feed. He usually wakes between 2-3 to feed again. He will usually sleep straight from that until 6-7am. If not, we usually have to feed him to get him back down.
  • Bedtime is between 8-9pm. Up for the day between 630-730a. Night wakings are all over the place - 11pm, 1am, 4am. Any or all of the above.

Really, though it's the big one that is the problem lately. He won't go to sleep until 930-10pm (he's in bed around 830), and then is up multiple times per night and up for the day around 6am.

He's so tiring. I'm so tired from 3.5yrs of poor sleep. He didn't even start STTN w any regularity until 3yo and then he goes in cycles from crappy sleeping to marginal sleeping. We've tried everything. Ugh.

I'm sorry for you @carrotcake06! Toddler sleep is difficult. We've had some early waking issues with our 3 year old too and it seems like he knows exactly how to push our buttons. He'll start kicking the wall and banging cause he knows it'll wake up his brother and immediately get or attention. Ours goes in spurts too. Hope you get some sleep soon!
  • bedtime is usually somewhere between 8-9pm. on a good night, he'll wake up around 3, dreamfeed at 8ish, then up between 9-10am for the day. sometimes he'll get up between 12-1am for an extra feeding.

He goes to "bed" between 8 and 9 usually. He gets up just about every hour. He's up "for the day" any time between 7 and 8. This shit sucks.

Ughhh! I thought I was the only one with the every hour waker! It does suck...ready and waiting for whenever she wants to sleep longer!!
  • Things haven't been "normal" in a bit, but normal is usually bed time between 8 and 9, eat between 2 and 4 am, up for the day between 6:30-8 with 1 wakeup in-between.

@carrotcake06 @janneann1127 and anyone else with toddler sleep issues, I just learned about this in a mom group the other night. I'm a FTM so what the hell do I know, but the woman who told us about it said it keeps her 4 boys (ages 2 to 10, 10 yo has special needs) who all share a room in bed until a decent hour. It's called the Bunny Clock.

LO has been all over the place in terms of actual bedtime, MOTN wakings, and getting up for the day. We do her bedtime routine (bath, book, feeding, bouncing to sleep) along with whatever feeding happens around 8 pm, but it frequently takes hours to actually get her down to sleep. She was doing 8-12 hour stretches for a couple weeks but now is down to 6-8 hours and sometimes less if she gets up for a MOTN feeding.

She gets up any time between 5 am and 8 am (with a lovely 4 am a couple days ago). Until this week, she would take a morning nap 1.5-2 hours after waking, but she has flat out refused 3 of the last 4 days (even though she is clear tired and hasn't done long stretches at night). Not helpful at all, I'm sure, but I thought I'd put it out there.

  • Bedtime is 7:30pm.  She always wakes up at least once during the night, sometimes twice.  We are up for the day around 8am.

  • She falls asleep btwn 7-7:30 pm and has been waking up about 3:30am. This wld be fine w me except I don't get back to sleep until 4:30 am and my alarm goes off at 5 am. So basically I start my day at 3:30 am.

  • We shoot for an 8:00 bedtime. DS will often wake up every 1-2 hours until midnight or so and then sleep a 3+ hour stretch. The past few nights he has gone down for good at 9-10 and woken at 4ish and then up for the day at 8. This is a miracle for my child and I am eternally grateful!
  • Bedtime is anywhere from 8:30-9:00. Up at 4:30am to eat and then up for the day between 7:30-8:00am.

Don't hate me either. LO goes down between 9 and 10 and wakes up between 7 and 8. Knock on wood that this continues.

  • Bedtime is around 7:30. MOTN feedings very but her "norm" is 1-2am and then 5-6am. Sometimes we have a 10-11pm feed and sometimes we are up for the day at 5-6am making it not a MOTN feeding.
