my sequential screening bloodwork came back with a 1:250 risk of downs and as a result it was suggested i meet with a genetic counselor who basically scared the crap out of me. this was at 18 weeks. she was doing her normal job, they told me there wasn't anything too concerning about my results (the nuchal test (?) earlier was fine) but it still scared me. she suggested i do the harmony test, since insurance would now pay for it since i was "at risk", i did it and am now waiting on results -i go back this week for the results and my full anatomy scan (20 weeks).
other women i have talked to or things I have read about this, seem to have had type of testing this done and overwith way before the 20 week mark. is this normally when things these type of results are discussed? is this a normal timeframe? i feel like im pressed for time now in terms of decision making, amnio etc.
thanks!
