Anyone else on their second pregnancy after having a high-risk first?

Hi there, I'm Jessie from Corpus!

Okay, so, I'm 14 weeks along so far with this baby and everything seems normal.  However, apparently because both pregnancies involved fertility meds, they're calling for this one to be treated as high-risk just like my first.

During my first pregnancy with my son in 2011, I felt fine, didn't have any nausea or morning sickness, felt great pretty much the entire pregnancy.  My cravings were vegetables, anything spicy, and Chinese food.  The only issue was actually a very major one - Hypertension/High Blood Pressure.  I was actually hospitalized twice during the first trimester with my son due to this issue, but it was like the second trimester cleared everything up.  I was able to exercise more at that point; I pretty much exercised during the pregnancy, but after the first bout in the hospital, they told me to lay off of it until the second tri.  As soon as I hit my third, everything was still good until about the 8th week.  I had so many errands that needed to get done that morning, so I had to have my appt switched to the afternoon.  When they observed me, apparently my blood pressure was so bad that they told me I was borderline stroke.  I did feel a little winded, but not so exhausted that I felt bad.  I just chalked it up to all the errand running and stair climbing I had to do.  Now, a little about me, I'm overweight, technically obese by BMI standards, but I only gained nine pounds during this particular pregnancy.  Sammy only spent a little over a week in NICU, and everything was great after that.

Now, with this pregnancy, my blood pressure has been fantastic, the only real problem is that I have little want to eat and have been throwing up constantly due to all-day sickness.  I've also had a pretty persistent UTI with this one that I didn't have with my last.  I know that every pregnancy's different, and I'm hoping this is our girl, but the messed up part is that no matter how sick I've been I've managed to gain four pounds and I'm only 14 weeks.  I know when I'm hungry I'm practically starving, so I snack and throughout the pregnancy so far all I've been craving is sweet stuff.  I'm pretty good about trying to do the small meals/snack thing during the day and I do walk/exercise.  I find I have slight dizzy spells from time to time, but they're very far and few between.  My maternal fetal specialist prescribed me Zofran and another immediate relief drug for the UTI and so far it's been good, I only have a problem when I take the medicine too late in the day.

So, what I want to know is this:  If you are on a second pregnancy, or had a hellacious first, what happened to you?  What did your doc do to help you through your pregnancy?  If you took fertility drugs to conceive, were you also considered a high-risk pregnancy?

I had high risk on my 2nd and now risk free on my 3rd! My new Dr has been monitoring me weekly just to make sure there is no bleed like last time (had sub chorionic hemorage) and si far all is good with this one! I have learned every pregnancy is different and just because you were high risk preggo last time does not mean you will be that way every time! Best of luck!
