Back from RE protocol appointment - Told we have to wait another cycle

I'm on progesterone, my cycle should start Monday or Tuesday, so the RE wanted me to come in, get everyone on the same page before we started an injection cycle.
The RE isn't happy with the results from my last HSG, which is before DS1. I had an ectopic in my left and the notes from the HSG said my left was clear, my right was blocked. I was sleeping when I got the results, and don't remember what they said. Between that, a previous ectopic and having a c-section, he says I'm at a higher risk for blocked tubes and ectopics in the future.
So I need an HSG, and a sonohysterogram and he wants to repeat CD3 bloodwork while we're at it.
I know and he explained that you can do the HSG in a TTC cycle (as long as you do it early enough), but since I'm also OOP for meds, which will run around $2,500 for the cycle, he doesn't want to run the risk of me starting my meds and getting bad results, we don't have the money to turn it into an IVF cycle. So once my period is here I need to go for CD 3 blood work, then during CD 6-11 I will need to go get another HSG done, and then the sonohysterogram, which I've never had done.
He said after that, once I get to CD28-30 I can call, have them start me on Provera to get my period again and we can start then, looking at mid-February.
I know that it's for the best, I want the best cycle to hopefully get pregnant off of, but I really went in there, so confident and excited, I wanted to be able to start right away and so this is just a blow to what I was looking forward to.

It sounds like you have a lot of testing to keep you busy though- although that's probably not fun

Oh, I do! He has always been proactive, downright completely honest with me but also taken my concerns and suggestions into consideration. He had a student from med school in with him today and so the appointment took twice as long since he was explaining it all to her, I told her she was learning from the best.
