XP: MFM Appointment!

Today I met with my MFM for the first time and ended up getting an NT scan out of it! Both babies looked great and they were wiggling around a bunch, was very cute.  He did tell me b/c they're di/di I don't need to keep seeing him in conjunction with my OB. I'm still high risk, but the lowest of the high risk I guess. I was a bit upset at first, but I assume he knows what he's doing. I also get to go for an early GD screening this week, so I have that to look forward to.

He did tell me I get to go for u/s's every 4 weeks and shouldn't go past 38 weeks, if I make it that far. Despite my preterm labour with my first set of twins, they can't do much for me this time besides more monitoring and checking cervical length starting at 18 weeks. I'm still a bit freaked since they can't prevent what happened before from happening again, but I'm trying to stay positive. He did tell me he isn't as concerned since between this pregnancy and my first pregnancy I had DD and went to term (39 weeks) with her, and that pregnancy was totally uncomplicated and pretty easy! Oh and in regards to how crappy I've been feeling, he said not to worry and it's normal, but I'll still take it easy.

Anyways, just wanted to share. I'd been looking forward to this appointment since I got it. And here's pictures of the little babies (and yes, that's A's hand at his/her mouth). And thanks for all the support the other day in regards to the MFM questions. It was so helpful!

  • @AnotherDreamer Yeah we did have kinda similar experiences today! Unfortunately I guess there's only so much they can really do with twins. I hope both our pregnancies are super uneventful!

He didn't seem to want to put a cerclage in yet at least since I went full term with DD and with my first set of twins losing them had nothing to do with my cervix shortening. As time goes on I guess if my cervix shortens then I'll go on bed rest. I can't get a cerclage put in later, right?
