Dress Poll!

We're going to a formal in February and I need help deciding on what dress to wear. I don't think I'm supposed to copy the pictures, so I've linked to the dresses below. You might have to sign up on rent the runway to see the dresses, but it's easy to sign up (also, I love rent the runway, so you should sign up). Anyways - a few comments on myself - I'm short (5'2"), somewhat petite sized (about 115 lbs), somewhat athletically built, and right now I have a bigger chest than normal because of breastfeeding! I'm blonde and pale with blue eyes.

    If you look at the picture of the customer who wore the blush one, I don't think it's very flattering on her petite body. I almost feel like you have to have a long torso to rock that neckline...

    I voted for purple sequins but I also love the black bow. Gorgeous dresses :)

    I love the blush sequins - but I didn't vote for it- it sounds like we have a similar complexion, and I am always attracted to blush things on the hanger, but whenever I try it on, I always feel really washed out (I am also pale with blonde hair and blue eyes).  For that reason, I voted green sequins.   It was a close second anyway, and I think the color will be amazing!

    I voted green sequins because I'm a similar build and I think that style would be most flattering but really you can't go wrong.

    I think blush on light skin makes fair skinned people washed out. Its just a bad color IMO.

    that bow is huge, and if your petite, its going to look a lot bigger.

    purple sequins:
    I dont like that it has a straight neckline. again, I think it makes the person look boxy up top.
    I read that you would need a backless bra for it. IMO, I need support and a backless bra aint gonna do it for a busty bosom. lol



    All of this, my one concern with the green sequins is if you are petite AND athetic the cut up top might make you look a little boxy in the shoulder area.

    And not to hijack the thread, but has anyone rented from RTR?  I have a white tie event in 2 weeks and don't think I am going to be able to squeeze into any of my gowns.  So I was thinking about going this route.

    I've rented 3 dresses (a wedding, a rehearsal dinner, and a Christmas cocktail party) from there now and have loved it everytime!  Because you can get two sizes, and there are a lot of reviews and good fit notes, I've never had issues with a dress not fitting.  And they have typically come a day earlier than I requested so I haven't had issues with timing.  I love it and highly recommend it!

    I'm probably going to rent for my brothers wedding in april too. I'll keep your link in mind when I rent.

    Oh, and I didn't respond, but I'm pretty much an hourglass but not super curvy like some girls that are hardcore hourglasses :)  I just googled it and put in my measurements and that's what resulted.

    Considering your features, blush all the way. That dress is gorgeous! Plus you could do a great mauve smokey eye and nude lip. Big lashes. Bam!! Smokin'!

    I voted purple sequence because its so different and gorgeous. I love the blush one but know it would look terrible on my big nursing boobs!

    I love the purple sequins too. It's so beautiful! I always wanted to try rent the runway but I worried because I am so short!! It's nice to hear you had success with them.

    I loved the blush but I also have a medium to tan skin complexion so I generally gravitate towards things this color. I also really like the black bow one. I felt that would be very flattering.
