Babies on the Brain

Get off my lawn just got a new meaning.

You will never guess who I had to call today! If you said police, you get a cookie.

I had a fight break out on my front lawn. It was two women and a disabled adult male. The women were attacking him. I do know an ambulance was involved.

We are in the process of getting our ducks in a row to move ASAP. We have contacted our LL and HOA everytime something has happened. They have done jack shit to make us feel safe. We are going this weekend to discuss a rental property. We want to move by the end of March. We are even looking at buying. We just want out of here.

Poor Allie was terrified. They were screaming so loud. I had her lock herself in her room. :(

Re: Get off my lawn just got a new meaning.

  • The police tried saying I live in a safe area. If this is safe, I would hate to see bad.

  • Yikes MW. That's awful! I grew up in a pretty unsavory neighborhood and had to deal with situations like that too. Not cool for your LO to have to:( I hope you all find a new place soon!
  • Oh, MW, I'm glad you guys are moving.  Your neighborhood stories scare the shit out of me.

  • Yikes that sounds scary! We live in a nice neighborhood but we keep having break-ins. I called the cops after some suspicious behavior. Hope you can find a new place quickly!
  • We thought we moved to a decent area. We had very little time to do a full research when we moved, but we did research. From what we are understanding we are in a good town, just a bad area.

  • Yikes! Not fun at all...hope you can find a better place quickly.

Terrible.  :(   And to think that the police want you to believe that everything is just fine and dandy.

I felt awful. I didn't know what was going on. It was the first thing that popped in my head. I probably didn't help her fear. My concern was keeping her safe.

I can't say that I blame you.  In a scary and uncertain situation, you did what you thought would keep her the safest.

I do hope you can move soon.

There are so many non-chain places to eat! You should try a mom and pop spot.

    ***Stuck in the Box

Breakfast: Loveless cafe, Pancake pantry (both of these do take out - my H has Loveless on speed dial), Monell's, Bread & Co, Donut Den (blueberry donuts... they are amaaaazing)

Lunch: San Antonio Taco Company (SATCo), Silly Goose, Fido, Noshville, Frothy Monkey, Samurai Sushi, Cafe Coco (24 hrs)

Dinner: Mad Platter, Merchant's, Sunset Grill, Yellow Porch, Cabana, Bound'ry, Husk

Bars: Patterson House ($$$ but my fav), Whiskey Kitchen, Flyte, Greenhouse (literally, a greenhouse), No. 308, Red Door, Flying Saucer (or just "Saucer")

Cheap: SATCo, Smiling Elephant, Bolton's (hot chicken - it's a thing, and it's amazing), Chuy's, Pita Pit

... and because you're in Nashville: Wildhorse Saloon, Bluebird Cafe, Big Bang (dueling pianos)

I could keep going, but that should be plenty to feed you for a few days :)

And the one place I always tell people to visit in Nashville: McKay used books.  They sell books, movies, music, etc.  I buy all my trashy romance novels there, usually for $0.05 each.  It's about the size of a Kohl's, it has two floors, and it's glorious.
  • I love Hot Chicken! H is really upset you can't get it here. We had Hattie B's when we were in for Christmas.

  • Pepper Fire is good too! Mmmmmm hot chicken.

  • DH ate hot chicken 4 our of 6 nights the last time he was in Nashville for work!
