State of the vag and other musings anyone?

I think it has been a little while since we did this (or I missed it entirely). For those of us still waiting on our babies, how are you feeling? Any progress or gut feelings on when the baby might arrive? Things you still need to get done before D day? Or feel free to share any complaints or randomness here!

I just came home from my last appointment with the doctor to finalize my birth plan. My goal is to try to a VBAC. However if DS does not come by Feb. 3rd (I'm due Jan. 25th), then I will be having a RCS that day....Positive thoughts he decides to come before then- I really do not want a C/S here!!

I got checked at my apt yesterday. 1 cm, cervix is still long and baby is high. I don't think I will get checked again. Apparently my OB and I are working off of different due dates, and now it is starting to mess up my FMLA paperwork. I'm going by LMP which puts me at 1/29, OB is apparently going by my dating ultrasound which estimated 2/3. I know it is only like 5 days and I didn't even care until I had to start filling out my FMLA forms. Apparently people make a big deal when it is in a different month. Ugh.

I'm still rooting for this baby to come on Monday which is DH's birthday. He is too. And I am so done with work. I have no motivation. All I want to do is nap, watch TV, and basically do anything but finish the projects I need to. Andplusalso, I work from home, which doesn't help motivate me.

I'm currently 40+3 and have been having contractions since last night. They're still inconsistent and not intense enough to warrant a trip to l&d, but I'm hopeful for a baby within the next 48 hours or so!!! Called off work today and am officially on mat leave!

I meant to start one of these yesterday! Good job mama!

As of my appt on Friday morning, I was 6cm dilated and at least 80% effaced (she didn't tell me my effacement, but I was 80% 2 weeks ago.) She gave me 3 choices for my induction date as well, but only one of which is with her. 1/23 and 1/24 would be with a different OB in the practice and 1/27 would be with my regular OB (who I love, trust and who delivered my 3 other kids). It's much more important to me to have her so January 27th it is! I'm a little concerned about her size at that point (she was estimated at 8.5lbs at 36w4d), but I'm sure it will be fine. Whatever.

Next appt is this Friday where I'll actually get my induction orders for the 27th and I also have a BPP ultrasound as well.

Less than 2 weeks to go!

ETA: I knocked out pretty much my entire "to do" list this past weekend. All I still have left is to wash the carseat and swing covers and set those 2 things up. Everything else is done. WOOT! I'll want to clean my house at least 1 more time before she makes her arrival though.

I feel a mix between feeling ready and feeling nervous about things to come. I can't wait to meet my baby boy though. As of last appt I was still 1cm and 50% effaced which was no change from the week prior. I may decline a cervical check at this Thursday's appt but I am curious to see if that has changed. I am due Monday but would really love for him to decide to come this week. It is so hard not to know how it will all go down.

As of yesterday (37w2d) I am almost 2cm, 70% effaced, and baby's head is "reachable." Most likely getting my membranes stripped on the 24th (38w6d).

Once I explained the membrane strip to H he was ready to drive me back to the OB and get it done now.. He's pretty excited for baby to be here.

I'm feeling better this week than I was last week. I was so so uncomfortable and I just wanted baby girl to come out so that I can meet her. I now seem to fluctuate between being so ready (bags packed, everything washed) and being anxious/nervous that we are so close.

Baby girl seems to have dropped (although she still seems to get her feet lodged in my ribs once in a while to bring back the discomfort lol) and it has made a world of difference. I am so much more comfortable, even with the back pain and more frequent peeing.

I lost a nice chunk of my mucous plug last night as well. So it seems like things are slowly heading in the right direction, which is making me happy. I still have some time before my due date (25th) so she is good to keep inside for a while longer, and I know that none of these mean that she will be here immediately. I am just hoping to avoid induction if I can, and let my body do things naturally, so progress is good!

At my last OB appointment, cervix was still closed up tight, but I'm interested to see if that has changed. I have my next appointment on Thursday this week.

@ccip82 - I hope that you are able to get that VBAC!

@mrsjenni - You are a rockstar lady! I like your plan to wait until the 27th so that you can have your doctor. You've been walking around dilated for this long, what is a few extra days lol

@bridefromafar - what a pain with the paperwork, I hope that it isn't too much more trouble for you

@juliasmama2010 - I hope that baby decides to come soon for you!

@bluegreeneyes11 - I feel you on the going back and forth between feeling ready and feeling nervous.

juliasmama2010 - hooray for being officially on leave. Boo for being overdue! I hope the contractions pick up and baby makes its debut very soon for you! Hang in there!

@mrsjenni - My jaw drops when I read that you are 6cm dialated already. I still don't understand how your babies don't just fall out of you - seriously. I hope the size estimates are off and that you can have your regular OB on the 27th. I knocked out the majority of my list last weekend too.

I am still feeling good, and have absolutely no clue when LO might make his debut! I'm due the 26th. I think I'm starting to nest, because every time I think of something that needs to be done, I get this overwhelming feeling to do it RIGHT NOW, because what if I go into labour and I don't have another chance to do it? I had my baby shower this past Sunday, and I had everything (and we all know how much STUFF you get at a shower) organized/washed/put away by yesterday afternoon. I feel like a crazy lady. And I did all this while working from home... And I wasn't really slacking off... The last thing on my list to pick up is a change pad (I had registered for one but didn't get it), and then I just really want to meet him!

I am just waiting. I am still early in the pregnancy. I have an ultrasound tomorrow to make sure baby is head down. I am pretty sure baby is but it will be nice to have confirmation. I would like my husband to install the car seat bases and hopefully my change table gets here and I can put it together. Then I will be happy

I am feeling tired and excited! I have been contracting on and off for a couple of days, but I doubt I have this baby prior to my induction date on Thursday. Right now I'm sitting at 2 cm and my cervix is super soft and thin. The NP said I might go before my induction date, but I think she was just being nice and optimistic.

Today is my day to get the rest of baby prep done. I need to do my deep cleaning done today and some food prep, but that is about it. Tomorrow DD#1 and I have a fun day planned just the two of us. We are going to bake cupcakes for her to take to class on Thursday to celebrate her being a big sister. Thursday I go in at 8 am for induction.

@mrsjenni 6 cm is nuts!! I wonder if there is a tie with how you dilate so much this early and the fact that you have such big babies. Like your cervix saying ok we better start opening and stretching stuff out now bc there is going to be one hell of a baby coming through here soon.

Newish stuff with me I was closed, a -3 station last week, and 50 % effaced last wed. Also found out yesterday that I am GBS+ again which sucks, but what can you do. I have a dr. appt tomorrow (37 weeks 5 days) to see if anything has changed.They are also going to do a BPP to check on baby girl. Not to worried about no progress bc I was at the same exact spot with my DS at this point in my pregnancy and he came on his own 9 days early. I figure when she's ready we will know

That being said I am hoping that she decides to make her debut this weekend bc DH will be home for MLK weekend. I'm not doing anything to expedite labor, bc I would never want to force her out when she isn't ready. That being said I may have offered up a prayer (or 10) hoping that she will come when he's here, so that DH gets to be here for the birth. Also he would get to spend some time with her before going back to his military base. We shall see what happens...

I was 2.5 cm dilated last week and my next appointment is Wednesday (39 weeks). A tiny bit of blood last night, but I haven't seen anymore then the one spot. I still feel like I have a shit ton to do. I still have to go to Ikea to get a big girl bed and dresser for DD so I can finish the nursery. I feel very uncomfortable. It hurts to sneeze.

Besides these god-awful hemorrhoids, I'm feeling pretty good considering baby is due on the 25th. I had my appointment yesterday where my doc prescribed me a bunch of meds for theses hemorrhoids (home remedies and OTC products couldn't touch these puppies after 3 days of treatment). The plan is to get these under control (at least more manageable) before baby makes his appearance. If not, at least the epidural will help with this pain temporarily! Baby has dropped and is pretty comfortable; cervix is soft, but not dilated/thinning. I'm guessing he won't be here until after the 25th. The only thing we have left to do is install the carseat.

Well, due date is 1/27 and so far not much is happening. I won't be going past then, so baby will get his eviction notice if he doesn't decide to come on his own. There have been some estimates that he could be 11 pounds which could be a game changer. Not wanting a CS yet not wanting to kill myself either. I guess time will tell! We just moved 3 weeks ago so I am not feeling ready at all. Still trying to get organized and get then baby's room done. I need another month!

Had my 38w appointment yesterday and my BP was high again and they did find some protein in my urine so they ordered some bloodwork. I am now anxiously waiting on results from the bloodwork and have a repeat BP check/appointment on Friday to re-check everything. On the bright side, they did an NST to check on baby and they said all is well and his head is very low down. FX for good news on Friday...

My cervix has only been described by 2 words at both my checks "thick and closed" so we are scheduled for induction at 8pm this Thursday! I will be just over 41 weeks and they think he is about 9lbs but we'll see

I'm not due until 1/30, but so far, this little guy is showing no signs of wanting to come out. I've had two cervical checks, and my cervix was high and closed at both. I think he's positioned pretty low (my OB said something about reaching around his head to get to my cervix, and she had trouble getting some measurements at my growth scan because he was low). I have another appointment Thursday (38w), so hopefully there will be some progress.

@ccip82, I'm trying for a VBAC, too, and I think it's made me more neurotic about my progress. Since I know I can't be induced, it really gets to me when I hear that nothing is happening down there. We'll probably have to talk to my OB about getting on her surgical schedule for the beginning of February just in case (when I'd be 41w). I've just been putting it off because I feel like once I schedule a RCS, that's what I'll end up with.

The last big thing I need to do is install the infant car seat. I've been putting it off because it means moving DD's car seat from the middle seat, but I think it will get done this week. I've become a little obsessive about cleaning lately, so at least my house looks pretty good!

I'm trying for a vbac too -due this Saturday. Have they told you about induction w a Foley bulb? It's non-chemical, only mechanical dilation. My OB is also willing to do Pitocin at low dose which I will avoid like the plague . The foley will dilate you to a 4 and helps a lot of women go into a natural labor pattern. My provider is sort of getting wishy washy about it in the 11th hour, but I will hold out for that to at least get myself to a favorable cerbpvix for any other kind of augmentation. That is, unless little lady is ready to go before early next week!! Fingers crossed for you- the mental part of a vbac is draining! Stay strong, mama! We are close and our bodies are not lemons:)

Hey ladies,

I'll be 38 weeks tomorrow and no sign of anything happening soon. I don't get cervical checks but pretty sure baby is still high. No contractions, real or BH.

And frankly I'm cool with that. Most of the baby stuff is ready but I would love to have an extra week to get over my head cold/possible sinus/ear infection. And to get some more stuff done at work.

No gut feelings on when she will show up...had my appt today and I am 3cm dilated and "thin" and the baby's head is "super low." (All these technical terms my doctor uses ;-)) I am having some minor cramping that does feel like period cramps, but nothing regular or timeable and no other signs that she is coming anytime soon.

I'm praying she does decide to come soon because I am having excruciating hip pain and the weight of her on my pelvis is not helping.

So, I'm 38wks today, and I swear my body has been teasing me for the last 1.5wks! I'll have painful ctx all night long, 2min apart, then they peter out by morning, and all I'm left with is being exhausted.

Last week I was still at 2cm, and he's between station -1 & 0.

DH is super anxious, and just wants LO here, which is in turn making me more anxious. *sigh* I just want LO to be healthy.

I'm at 1 cm and 80% effaced as of last Thursday. I ended up in l&d with the flu (had the shot), severely dehydrated, and a Bladder infection last week that caused lots of contractions. They stopped them with medication and I was so scared baby was coming and I couldn't hold or see him/her. Thankfully, I'm feeling better flu wise but still in a lot of pain. I have a check up Thursday and induction scheduled for Monday. Good luck everyone and I hope all you girls going for a vbac get your wish :-)

Baby seems content to stay right where she's at- last appointment my doctor doctor could stretch me to a 3 and my cervix looked 'favorable' (made me think of balloons shooting out- favorable - party favors? It amused me anyway). My hips and the pelvic pressure are kidding me.

Last week I was 3 cm, 75-80% effaced. Next appointment is tomorrow. I really was hoping I wouldn't make it that long, though. Jokes on me! I'm feeling like this is never going to happen and I'm going to pregnant for the rest of my life.

Last night I was in so much pain I was crying for hours and could barely walk. My body is seriously shutting down. I really need this baby to come soon. I don't think my poor body (and brain--I swear, I'm losing it) can last another 2 weeks!

I had my cervical check this afternoon, not even a fingertip. But doc says she is low, and she doubts I will make it to this weekend. I have my next appt, which will include my first U/S since the A/S, if I make it that far. I am just so over it, my 2 year old (who weighs 35 lbs.) does not understand that it hurts Mommy to pick her up! That is besides the fact that I am restless, stay up half the night just trying to get comfortable/ mind racing through everything that still needs to get done/ having painful contractions/ getting out of the bed to pee for the umpteenth time! I just wish I was already dilating so that I could feel like the end is nearer than the end of the month

I'm 39w3days today, 4cm dilated but really am feeling no action other than the fact that it looks like the baby is going to fall out its so dang low.

I have used this week to catch up on some things...I'd like one more day to wrap up some Thirty One calls I need to make and other than that....anyyyyy time is fine with me

Had my 40 week appointment today. 4cm dilated, 80% effaced, and baby is low. Tomorrow I have an NST and fluid level check bc I'm past due.

I'm a little sad that DS2 is over due but DS1 was 9 days late, so I'm not surprised. COME ON DS2, I want to meet you!!!

As an end of the month girl (1/31) I haven't had any cervical checks yet. My fist one will be next week at my 38 week appt. LO flipped and dropped this week so now I'm feeling pretty uncomfortable. Sleep is also not a friend of mine.

I am cranky and impatient. As of Monday, I was 1-2 cm dialated and the midwife could touch the baby's head. Lost the nasty plug last night and some more at 1 am, but no contractions or signs that labor is actually imminent. Just want to get this show on the road please!

I'm due January 30 but am so over it already. I realize I could be pregnant for 3 more weeks but I'm just done. Working full time, being on my feel for a large majority of the day, and being uncomfortable - I'm just ready to meet this little one.
I went to the doctor yesterday and baby measured right on schedule: 7 lbs which I was not expecting but I'll take it. Cervix is thinned and dilated about a centimeter.
At this point, I'm just taking things day by day. And hoping one of these "days" will be THE day :-)

41 weeks today, and still don't feel like I'm going into labor anytime soon.

I saw my midwife yesterday, and everything looks good. We scheduled an NST for Friday morning then I'll see the midwife again. At that point, they'll schedule my induction for 42 weeks.

I knew all along this was basically the plan, but for some reason, hearing my actual deadline yesterday made me super anxious! I know an induction isn't necessarily awful, but I'm hoping to go pain med-free and was looking forward to spending my early labor at home. So now I'm really REALLY hoping baby comes ASAP! I might try acupuncture.
