I had my follow up from my D&C yesterday and I found out that I may have something called Antiphospholipid Syndrome.
Long story short, my blood clots too easily.  And those clots effected the cord and placenta.
I don't know for sure if I have it but all signs point to yes.  I'll be seeing a hematologist soon for a proper diagnosis.
I can't decide what's worse.  Knowing that I could have this chronic disease or knowing that chronic disease killed my baby.
Either way I guess I should find comfort in the fact my baby may have just saved my life.

Re: The answers scare me (ticker warning)
First, I'm so sorry for your loss. It sucks and well mostly it sucks...
I know it probably doesnt seem like it right now, but its better that you know. A close friend has a similar condition she lost her first little girl at 26 weeks to it, but once they knew what they were dealing with it was managable and she was able to to go on to have 2 healthy LO's after that diagnosis. Good luck and again I'm sorry for your loss, take care of yourself.
