  It's like an episode of Law and Order!  Or, a very bad Lifetime made for tv movie.

  Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

  Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

  I saw this too. My ds looks nothing like dh so I always feared something like this had happened. The only thing is they have the same birthmark so that reassures me their wasn't a switch. Also our lab person is female so luckily this couldn't be the same sort of situation. But what a nightmare for those people.

  Exactly @TJ1979 I think a lot of people fear a mix-up, human error, whatever.  But to intentionally replace it?!  Can you imagine how her father feels?

  How horrible!! The day of our egg retrieval there was an African American couple who went in right before us and I kept on having nightmares that I was going to have to give them my baby because it was really theirs. How terrible for the families involved!

  I did see that article yesterday. I definitely had those "what if the lab mixes up DH's sample" thoughts the day of my IUI. Thankfully, N could be DH's tiny little twin.
  What an awful situation for those families.

  I didn't see that, but the thought lurks in my mind occasionally. Fortunately DD looks just like DS1 and all 3 of them have DH's square jaw.
  
  I can't imagine how horrible it would be to have that happen. What an awful betrayal at a point when we are already so freaking vulnerable. Infuriating!

  Did they say when this happened? It sounded like it was like 20 years ago and the guy was dead now. I would hope that there are way better checks in place now so this couldn't happen.

  That is just so horrible. I know many pp commented on how bad the father must feel but honestly, he raised her all those years without having any clue she wasn't his biological daughter - he should feel no different toward her. I still think he has every right to be upset and hurt. This is just so shitty. Human error is one thing but this is just a whole other thing. Many prayers for the family.
