Re: PGAL Check-in

  • How far along are you? What size fruit is your baby this week? 34 weeks. Butternut squash.

Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones? Position ultrasound on Wednesday.

Any pregnancy symptoms or pregnancy cravings or aversions? Nope, all is going pretty well.

QOTW: Has this pregnancy been hard for you to tell others about or talk about? Are you going to prepare for this baby the same way you may have with your angel baby (ie. nursery, baby shower, first purchases, etc.)? I still have not made an official announcement that we are expecting. Family knows, people at work know, etc. But no facebook announcement of anything. I am mostly preparing the same way, though I did not start preparing as early in the pregnancy as I did with my daughter.

Open Topic. What is on your mind this week? Wrestling with both wishing he was here already and not wanting him to come early.

    22w spaghetti squash

Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones?
I'm almost to the point in my pregnancy where I delivered Elliott and Ryland. Tomorrow I'll be 22w5d which is when I delivered. I have an appointment on Monday for an ultrasound and to meet with the dr.

Any pregnancy symptoms or pregnancy cravings or aversions?
I have been eating Cheerios like they're going out of style. I can't get enough. Just plain Cheerios.

QOTW: Has this pregnancy been hard for you to tell others about or talk about? Are you going to prepare for this baby the same way you may have with your angel baby (ie. nursery, baby shower, first purchases, etc.)?
In an effort to be more positive I've started trying to plan for these babies. We've scheduled my showers and their room is painted which is more than I'd done before. I haven't said anything on fb though and I didn't do any big announcements or anything with friends/family or work like I did last time. I'm debating whether or not I want to say anything on fb at all, but I'll probably at least let my mom and MIL post something once I reach 24 weeks and I feel a little safer knowing they have a chance at survival if they're born early.

Open Topic. What is on your mind this week?

This has been a really hard week for me. Just being at the same point in my pregnancy I was when I had my loss is really hard. I've been full of anxiety to the point of having a full on panic attack on Wednesday when apparently my discharge was enough to make me think I was leaking amniotic fluid. A trip to L&D reassured me that everything was fine so at least I've had some relief from the anxiety since then.

    21 weeks tomorrow!

Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones?

I have an OB appointment Monday. I also had my A/S last week, they said everything looked fine, so I felt some relief after that.

Any pregnancy symptoms or pregnancy cravings or aversions?

No symptoms really, I feel pretty good. The only think I noticed is that I HAVE to eat something as soon as I wake up in the morning.

QOTW: Has this pregnancy been hard for you to tell others about or talk about? Are you going to prepare for this baby the same way you may have with your angel baby (ie. nursery, baby shower, first purchases, etc.)?

This pregnancy is completely different. There is no excitement, we still have not told ANYONE we're having another baby. I'm still forcing myself to squeez into my regular clothes, I think I'm afraid to open the box of maternity clothes that's packed up in the back if my closet. With Stella I was so excited to show off my bump and talk all about being pregnant, I kind of want to hide it this time and not have to deal with anyone's questions or comments or thinking I'm all better now that I'm pregnant again.

Open Topic. What is on your mind this week?

Just getting through another week. And obsessing over feeling movement.

  • We're 24w3d today... I think this week is a cantaloupe.

24wks was our big milestone... Next goal is 28wks

Since I was put on bedrest I haven't really had much of an appetite :( although the last couple of days I've really been wanting a Big Red - THE absolute most sugary red soda that was ever invented!! They're ahhhhhmazing. But I haven't had any caffeine or sugary treats in a long time so I'm afraid I'll be wanting to bounce off the walls if I do drink one... and that's kinda frowned upon when you're supposed to be on bedrest

Dh and I have only told family and close friends. The people he works with don't even know yet. And we've avoided fb like the plague, lol I dont know why fb makes everything seem so official, it makes me nervous... maybe we'll say something after 28wks. As far as preparing for baby goes, we haven't done anything yet, which makes me feel kind of guilty. My mom brought up a baby shower a I almost threw up not because I dont want one, but because it's a big step in this journey. With Edyn and Lorelei we started buying outfits and started registries and it was heartbreaking to have to delete things afterward or put away all our babies' clothes and I really don't want to have to go through that for a third time:(

Baby names have been on my mind alot lately. I think we've narrowed it down to a for sure first name but now the middle names are giving us some problems.

  • How far along are you? What size fruit is your baby this week?  30 weeks 3 days, cucumber

Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones?  I think I have my second growth scan this week.

Any pregnancy symptoms or pregnancy cravings or aversions?  These past few weeks have gotten very uncomfortable....my upper back hurts, my knees hurt when I squat down, I get out of breathe easily and I am not sleeping well anymore.  It seems to have all happened overnight.

QOTW: Has this pregnancy been hard for you to tell others about or talk about? Are you going to prepare for this baby the same way you may have with your angel baby (ie. nursery, baby shower, first purchases, etc.)?  I waited a while to announce to most people, but I don't mind talking about it.  I don't talk much about it at work because people are very skittish about bringing it up, and I don't mind not being pestered by people every day asking how I feel and giving stupid advice.  I also don't want to gush in front of them because I suspect most of my co-workers think I am fine now that we're expecting again, and I don't want to strengthen that theory.  I'm very happy to be pregnant, but it doesn't take away from the fact that I will and always will love and miss my angel.

Open Topic. What is on your mind this week?  Things are starting to get real.  My shower is in three weeks, and I'm starting to allow myself to picture her being here.  I'm both scared and excited at the same time.

  • How far along are you? What size fruit is your baby this week?  26 weeks 1 day - head of lettuce

Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones?  Had an U/S today and all looks great!

Any pregnancy symptoms or pregnancy cravings or aversions?  I've started having terrible hip pain, specifically at night/while sleeping, which is means I'm not getting good sleep.  But trying to remember it's all worth it.  Craving anything SWEET, still...

QOTW: Has this pregnancy been hard for you to tell others about or talk about? Are you going to prepare for this baby the same way you may have with your angel baby (ie. nursery, baby shower, first purchases, etc.)? It was really hard to talk about in the beginning, I didn't/wasn't ready to tell anyone yet which is why we didn't tell family/work until 19-20 weeks.  No Facebook announcements for us this time.  My SIL is throwing me a baby shower (we never made it to the shower for the triplets...) and at first I didn't want to have one, but I've come around to the idea.  I painted the nursery AFTER the triplets died and I want to keep it the same color for this baby.

Open Topic. What is on your mind this week? I've been really happy with the progress I've made on remembering the triplets while celebrating this baby (if that makes sense).  It's taken me awhile to come anywhere near this, so I'm really happy with the progress.
