Re: Double strollers?

  • I'll also add what works for our family.  I walk and jog for exercise and live in an area with rough sidewalks.  I have a BOB double that I keep in the garage and I keep it ready to go for when I get home for work and am ready to walk with the kids.  It's an amazing stroller if you need something that can handle terrain.  It's so easy to push one handed and I love it.

I also have a Baby Jogger Versa with the Uppababy rumble seat in my car (the Rumble seat works on the Versa).  It's great because if I am out with 1 child, I have a great single but I can add a second seat if I need to and it's still pretty narrow.  I wanted to only have 1 double stroller but because I jog, that was about impossible as most all joggers are big and that's just the way it goes for all terrain strollers.

I have tried out a lot of other double stroller so feel free to ask any questions! I am sort of stroller obsessed.  What are your main stroller uses?  How often do you use it?  What kind of terrain and lifestyle do you live?

  • Well honestly I'm sorta in a situation like you.... I live in the country so I really want a jogging stroller for the wheels because even if I just go feed our animals I need big tires to go over rough stuff! However we go out a lot to normal places to such as stores where a front and back instead of side by side would be way more beneficial as far as fitting! I was afraid I might need two also. If I do go out I will almost always have both and my ds shows way more interest in crawling the walking still! I'm basically clueless! lol I don't even know what to ask or where to start!

  • We live out in the country on gravel. For DS, I've just used the Chicco Travel system. I think it worked well enough indoors and outdoors. For a double, I'm leaning towards the Baby Trend Sit n Stand Double. I like that DS will be able to use the standing board when he's ready.

For the country, you will probably want a double jogger.  BOB Duallies are usually pretty easy to find used around $300-400 and the quality and resale value is excellent so it's not a bad investment. I would guess that you probably don't want to be putting your dirty stroller wheels in your car often so I would make the case that 2 stroller would probably be best.

You could get something like a double umbrella or a Britax B-Ready for shopping. If your budget allows, the Mountain Buggy Duet is awesome!  It's very narrow but still has 2 seats.
