NJ Mammas: Your thoughts......

My husband and I are debating having a 3D ultrasound. We are from the northern New Jersey area. I have been googling and searching for some places. Anyone have any recommendations for places in our area where they have had them done? How were your experiences?

    I live in South Jersey so I don't have any recs BUT I did see a groupon or living social deal for half off a 3d ultrasound, so maybe look there first?

    Did you try doctors offices besides your own? I'm in Monmouth county and I know there are some Ob/gyns that do them even if you're not a patient. My SIL is in Kearny and I know they have some also.

    SUCH a lurker from May14. I'm in Northern NJ too (I'm jealous there's Jersey people on your board!) I went to Babies Premiere in Maywood- It's right across the Paramus target parking lot on Spring Valley.

    It was good...I don't have much to compare it to, but they were very nice and we got a CD with pictures. (we did a gender scan there)

    Well, she was right that we're having a girl! They were very nice. It was fun to have an ultrasound that wasn't all medical - we were just watching the baby. She pointed out a lot of cool stuff, and actually was the first one to tell me I have an anterior placenta, haha. The place is really small however, and they aren't really open every day. There were some days that I would have been the only one coming in so they wouldn't schedule an appointment (not a big deal). I'd recommend it if it's not far from where you are!

    South Jersey girl here, so not too much help but I agree with what @khendy27 said.  I feel like I saw a recent groupon or living social deal for that.

    @talkthewholetime how many weeks along were you when you went for your appointments? I think in going to call and set up a time!! Thank you for all of your input!!

    We went a couple days before 16 weeks. It was all confirmed at our anatomy scan. We didn't opt for 3D though because it was still early and I didn't think it was worth the extra... They recommend it for 28+ weeks or something like that.

    And you're welcome! I hardly ever lurk on other BMBs, but the NJ sucked me in, I guess!

    @talkthewholetime I start my 29th week tomorrow, so I'm hoping baby girl will look chunky enough! Haha. It's so true, there are so few nj mammas on here in general. I check out the local board once in awhile, but there's not a lot if action over there.

    Love at first sight in Union, NJ.... The facility is clean and spacious. Looks as if you're in the comfort of your own home. I received so many extra pics and a free DVD with the entire session as another free add on

    I'm in NNJ and really wanted to get a 3D ultrasound but SO doesn't want to waste the $ he rather wait and use the $ on newborn pictures :( but I'm interested to call some of these to find out the cost maybe I can do both :)

    I'm in NNJ, but I haven't gotten a 3D ultrasound done.  My doctor uses a traveling radiologist (if your insurance covers it), and she does do 3D scans for extra $$ since not covered by insurance.  I think it's only an option for his patients though.
