Re: How many naps does your LO take a day?

  • It seems like LO is finally starting to drop his fourth nap (so I voted three).  Sad that this appears to mean an earlier bedtime, but not sure if it's a fluke or a new habit.  I was just curious what other LOs were doing!

  • Like 5, 30 minute naps. He naps every 1.5-2 hours. I wish he would just take 2 long naps, but no such luck.

  • 2-3 depending on the day
  • 2 or 3. Most are 30 minutes, but when he gives us one that's over an hour that's usually it for the day. We had a 2 hour one last week which was crazy!

2-if I lay with him both times. We're lucky if we get an hour. On days I put him in the swing/crib/bed without me laying with him, 1-2 30ish min naps.

Edit: On days he only takes 1 nap, sometimes he'll treat bedtime as a nap. He'll go down at 7p, wake up about 9p, hang out till about 11-midnight and go back to bed till 7-8a.

  • One at daycare and a short one on the way home from daycare. On weekends she takes a long 2-3 hour nap around 11am then a shorter 30min-1hr nap around 5.

LO finally got on a more regular napping schedule which makes planning play dates and school events easier for his older sister. He usually naps 1hr to 1.5hrs in the morning (usually around 10am) and then takes another 1hr one around 2 or so

    ETA: fixed my crazy wording

  • Usually a short one in the morning and late afternoon (45 minutes) and a longer one a little after noon (1.5-3 hours).

  • Two but I think he's going to start taking one "long" one during the day.

  • If we are home, he will take at least 2 naps. If we are out and he is kept busy, it will only be one.
  • Just changed from 3 to 2, but now they are longer

  • Usually 3 but some days 4. Normally 1.5-3 hour naps except the last nap is 30 min.

  • It's usually three 30 min naps. If I'm really lucky I'll get two 1hr-1hr 15 min...I really wish he would nap longer and just do a morning and early afternoon one, but I'm not holding out hope. I tried for a couple days to catch him right when he started to stir to see if I could get home back to sleep. No dice, he goes from dead asleep to absolutely wide awake in literally 2 seconds, it's crazy.

  • Most of the time 3, but sometimes she sleeps late in the morning and takes 2 longer naps, so then it might just be 2. We aim for around 3 hrs of napping a day.

  • 3. His first nap is the longest, about an hour. The other 2 are no more then 45 min. On a good day.

  • Daycare is lucky if they get two, although one of them is usually long. At home, he will do 3 or 4 usually. So I voted 3 as an average.
  • B is VERY anti nap!  Kid keeps his eyes open ALL DAY LONG.  The only way we have gotten any naps is if I nap with him, but even then, all the stars have to align for that to take.

But.... he sleeps through the night, so I will take what I can get.

  • Two naps, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. They last anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours.

  • Usually 2, some days only 1. When she was younger she wouldn't nap anywhere but on me, I finally started forcing crib naps and we are beginning to have more success. I still have to nurse her to sleep, but when I lay her down she will usually sleep for 45 min-1 hr. She used to wake up the moment I lay her down, then progressively increased, 20-30 min, and so on. I think she is shifting again to probably only 1 nap around 12:30, whenever she does this it's a nice long sleep (1.5-2 hrs). We'll see what happens

  • Naps are the one thing that is juuusst right around here. He takes a morning nap from 9:30-11 or so and an afternoon nap from 2-4. It doesn't vary all that much. And Lucy still naps in the afternoon so we actually have clean clothes these days!

  • 2- two hour naps here one from 10am-noon and one from 3-5pm and he goes to bed at 8. And yes I live my life around that schedule!
