How often do you give your LO sweets and/or junk food? What do they like? DS loves chocolate so I give him some when I am having some. I will also give hima bite of my dessert sometimes.
i tried to never give it to her. but my in laws live next door. she likes cookies. thankfully shes jsut as thrilled with grapes as she is with cookies.
Hum. Well I give her toddler cookies daily. Like 3. But they really aren't bad. She had some cake and cookies over the holidays. We probably have sweet potato fries every couple weeks as a dinner side and we have pizza weekly both of which she loves.
Probably several times a week if not daily. They love cookies and crackers so we give them a few sometimes with their milk. I like the Annie's bunny grahams or cheddar bunnies, or the Earth's best snack bars, especially if we are out and need a quick and easy snack. They eat really well otherwise (and tons of fruit) so a few crackers a day doesn't seem too bad.
ETA: as for sweets like ice cream or cake, not very often. Probably 1-2 times a month or for birthdays or special occasions.
He had a few of the mini Halloween Milky Way bites. He shares my dessert usually, but we only have dessert a few times a week. He gets a cookie every time we go to Publix. He gets fig Newtons in his lunch sometimes. Goldfish and Cheez-Its a few times a month. He had a bite of Nutella yesterday. He also loves chocolate milk.
I eat a lot of sweets and Veronica is always begging when she sees me eating anything sweet. She LOVES any kind of ice cream, so I give her a little bit whenever we have it (once or twice a week). She also likes cookies. She will eat one when any of us eating one. I try not to give her chocolate because I think it is not for kids - too rich, lol.
As for junk food - when we are eating out she would eat french fries and hotdos but that happens once a week or less. One thing I am guilty of I gave her potatoe chips the other day and she is hooked now
DS very rarely has sweets. I've made some chocolate pumpkin muffins before and he'll devour those, but he's never had candy or anything. He thinks fruit is the best thing ever and I'm keeping it that way until he learns differently!
Cooper is one of those poor poor kids that is deprived of most things sugary. She's had a couple bites off of a cookie and a few licks of ice cream but thats it other than demolishing her birthday cake... I hear about how mean this is and how I am depriving her literally EVERY DAY from the inlaws and grand in laws but they aren't the ones that have to put her to bed or wake up with her in the middle of the night wide awake.
Goldfish and cookies. She will randomly ask for a cookie and I have to tell her they are all gone. She rarely ever gets one. I think she asks just to try her luck. But i do give her the whole wheat goldfish fairly often. Especially if we are out somewhere and I need her to be quiet for 10 minutes.

@lilahbean13 - My parents and ILs say the same thing. They're always horrified when I'll eat ice cream in front of DS while he eats fruit. I have like 6 months, 1 year tops before that kid demands ice cream all the time, I'm not going to speed that up now!
Ava thinks goldfish are cookies and even says "cookie!". She thinks its such a huge treat to get a goldfish cracker so that's fine with me! I think she has maybe had a piece of a chocolate chip cookie only a few times so far. She does like frozen yogurt so if she's with me when I get some I share a tiny bit with her. Oh and chocolate, she loves chocolate but now that the holidays are over we don't have any in the house thank goodness.
