Hypnobabies/Labor Question

I didn't really know how else to title this...

I'm going to do the Hypnobabies home study. Does anyone have an opinion as to whether the CDs or MP3s are better?

Either way, I plan to listen to them during labor. Did anyone do this? Would you recommend getting a little portable CD player or an iPod? I don't have either and would like to ask for one from my Mom for my birthday.

TIA!

Re: Hypnobabies/Labor Question

  • I would rec mp3 and player. cds are a pita to switch if you find you want one track vs another in the middle of your birthing time. plus its easier to deal with in the car, and you're gonna want things as easy as possible. I just burned the cds onto my laptop and used that.

  • Loading the player...
  • Definitely mp3 that way you can have a playlist for labor and skip around to thee tacks you want in the moment. Also you can create playlists for the tracks you're supposed to listen to for each week and then for maintenance to make it quick and easy to listen to them.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • I did Hypnobirthing, but when I was in labor I liked having it on my IPod.  This gave me freedom of movement, every where I went my tracks came with me.  Plus using headphones worked out really well when we got to the hospital because it helped to eliminate a lot of the potentially distracting noise.  I got one of those arm bands runners use so I could attach my IPod to my arm, it worked out well :)
  • Thanks ladies! I think I am going to ask for an iPod Nano for my birthday, but still get the CDs.

  • I haven't used them for labor but I got the CDs, put them on my computer and then onto my phone (which is my music listening device).  That way I have easy access to them for labor and also have backups.
