This is weird right?

So apparently my FIL got married and never bothered to tell anyone. This is my H's dad. He only found out because FIL and his girlfriend (wife) got into a huge fight and she called BIL and spilled the beans.

This is so weird to me. H and his dad talk daily so it not like they don't have a relationship. I was like that doesn't bother you? He says no. Really? Because that would bother the hell out of me. So weird. This is weird right? I was like you know you have 2 more siblings now right? And another step mom. Just right over his head. His family baffles me.

    When I got married we didn't tell anyone until afterwards. We just did a jop wedding though.

    They have been together for 6 years. So it's nothing strange. Fwiw we don't vacation with him. We see him a handful of times a year. I guess I'm more emotional? I would be pissed if my dad didn't tell me.

    Maybe because this is wife #3?? I would still want to know. But in my mind, family is family whether it's #1 or #4

    Yeah, but you still told people. I don't think he was ever planning to tell anyone.

    And he has kids ranging in age from 7-33! Some siblings need to know that info!

    Anyway, I guess I was just shocked MH didn't care.

    Yeah its weird, but seeing pp I am guessing this happens all the time. Would you think it was weirder if a couple was together for over 50 years and never got married, no one ever knew. That is what my grandparents did, they got married on their 50th anniversary.
