Pregnant after 35

Re-making an intro... :)

Good afternoon ladies!
I'm re-joining this board and hoping I'm not jinxing anything but here I am!  Long story short: DH and I have been TTC #2 for the last 18 months. I've had 2 chemical pregnancies (Nov. 2012 and this past August) and one that ended with a D&C at 10weeks this past March.
We went through a bunch of testing and all came back normal except for the fact that I tested positive for ANA but negative for Lupus. Finally got in touch with an RE who suggested we go through IVF with PGD testing. We found a plan that covered it, got the appt all set... only to have a BFP on January 4th!!
This sort of came as a shock to us as I was told by my OB that it didn't look like I was going to O this past month (he wouldn't even order the trigger shot because my follicles were measuring so small).
So now, I'm in "Beta Hell."  So far, my numbers have been doubling every 48 hours (had 2 tests done, 73 / 181 / 373 ) so we're hoping this is IT and being cautiously optimistic.  It drives me nuts that I didn't chart because I have NO clue when we conceived, so therefore, although I can sort of estimate, I don't really know how far along I am (Self-proclaimed type A here).  AF threw us all for a loop the month before, lasting over 16 days, it was just a mess and we don't know what the heck was going on in there.
Anyhoo. I've been on this board before and love the nice support you give one another. I'm really hoping I get to stay on this time around! Going for one more Beta on Friday just to make sure things are progressing as should be, then will schedule the first US.
I said long story short and look at me, I wrote a book. Sorry!
:)

  • Congratulations!  (I, too, am here after a surprise BFP on a month when we couldn't do any fertility treatment thanks to a big cyst.  We're still laughing at that bit of irony.)  Good luck - I hope it all continues to go as great as it sounds right now.
  • Congratulations and welcome back!

  • Congrats and welcome!

I'm another surprise BFP. I was waiting for my cycle to start so I could start Clomid and do my first IUI, but my period never came! (We were given odds of less than 2 percent of conceiving on our own, so I was totally shocked.)
