Getting pregnant

How long did it take you? Were you planning or was it a surprise?

It took us 9 months. I was getting really upset. I always thought the first time i had sex without protection I would immediately get pregnant! LOL this is what my mom had always told me.

DS was an accident. Well, a calculated risk. I wasn't on birth control (still not actually) and I was just off my period and we were like, no way could I get pregnant this early in the month.

Ummm yeah. You can. I have since read Taking Charge of Your Fertility, and the day we had sex was a huge "DON'T HAVE SEX THAT DAY." At least now I know. Sex ed fail.

DH is still mad that we didn't get to try (ie: have sex everyday for like 2 weeks straight).

it took us 3 months, i was actually surprised how quick it happened, my doc had told me it could take up to a year even being healthy

It took us just about 2 years. We had just started tests and whatnot when it just happened. So, planned but we were shocked.

I'm super lucky, it took one cycle. I got off BC pills, and got a + 3 weeks later.
She was planned!

2 months of not trying but not preventing.

We had assumed it would take a couple years and probably require intervention because I was 38, but it took four months. We hadn't gotten around to tracking or charting or anything.

6 years of not preventing, but not trying either. I had a MMC the year prior and the OB told me the only way we would get pregnant is with help. Well, we didn't take the help, we were resigned to being DINKS and bam a BFP! And we are very happy with our little girl.

I never had a period after I suggested that we start trying. I miscarried, had to have a D&C and was pregnant again before my next period. All the money spent on years of birth control were obviously well spent.

6 months for DS.

Got pregnant after one month trying for #2 (m/c). And then again after 2 months trying (ectopic). We are now one and done.

My husband returned from a deployment Feb 13, 2009. I found I was pregnant march 15, 2009 I was a little shocked to say the least thought it would take a little longer lol.
