A New Journey

We start our journey through secondary infertility if I don't start my period by Sunday night. We've been trying since September with no success, which pessimistically I suspected would be the case. Our daughter Lainey was conceived in May 2012; we had been trying since 2009 and suffered a miscarriage in 2011, so she was our Rainbow child. She is a Clomid baby. I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and a history of Endometriosis and Ovarian Torsion. We are very nervous. Sunday night, I start Provera, and if that works, Clomid. They're starting me at 50 mg again. With Lainey, we had to go up to 150 mg so I am a little doubtful the lower dose will be effective. Any words of encouragement, stories of similar experiences, etc...would really improve my morale.

    I don't want to overstep my boundaries, as I am graduating from 2IF when bloodwork comes in...(& I hope you girls don't mind me posting) but I wanted to say im sorry for your loss & welcome you... You are joining the best group of ladies here, be good to them, I'll be watching! :P

    Uh.. If you're looking for success stories, perhaps maybe check on PAIF/SAIF?


    Clomid didn't work for me.. Well it worked for me in that I produced lots of big, fat, juicy, eggs.. but that was pretty much all that happened. I will say I had pretty much the same results whether I did a 50 cycle or a 150, I typically got 3-4 follies.

    Clomid worked for me as far as my part but my DH's last SA came back unhopeful. I conceived DD on 150mg Clomid. Good luck!

    Hope your stay is short here,but this is a great group of women.

    I did 2 rounds of 50 mg and 100 mg clomid and no success.

    I had an ovarian torsion too, worst pain ever. Did you lose a tube?

    I have PCOS, too.  Clomid made me ovulate, but it made my lining too thin.  We were planning IUI and Provera but while we were saving up and getting emotionally/mentally prepared for it, I took a lot of holistic measures and found success that was for DS.  So, this time, I am focussing on that natural approach again (herbal teas, acupuncture, high protein diet, etc).  I'm also intending to me an extended breast feeder for my son, so I can't do too much else right now any way.  Good luck with your plan!  I'm a little jealous that you are taking defined steps!  Sometimes the holistic route just feels like a lot of sitting around waiting.

    Good luck! Hope it works for you. We have also just started TTC #2. I have PCOS and we got pregnant using femara and injectibles the first time. Clomid never worked for me and thinned my lining too much. Hopefully you'll get some good results.
    I'm 29. DH is 29.

    Well ladies, the Provera is long done and still no period. 
    Was told to follow up with my OB in 1 week if I still hadn't started...not sure if they'll try a higher dose or what. I'm a little nervous because last time, I had no trouble with the Provera initiating a period. Now I don't know what to think and I don't know what they'll do if the Provera doesn't work a second time...anyone experienced this? I've taken two pregnancy tests too, just to be absolutely sure that I wasn't (once before I started the Provera, once a few days after I finished)...both were negative, of course. 

    In better news, my DD celebrated her 1st birthday on the 30th. It was such a joy to see her dig into that cake! I know that I'm so lucky to have her but it doesn't diminish the want to have another. I so want to be able to raise her with a sibling!

    I missed your intro but want to welcome you now.  I have no experience with not getting a period so I don't know what they do.

    I have never taken Clomid (it doesn't usually do much for folks with my diagnosis) but I hope it is helpful to you.

    Have a good friend who conceived her 1st son on clomid. Then went back to clomid to conceive her 2nd son. I believe they started her out lower too and then upped each month. It only took her a few months to conceive the 2nd time. She did say she was maxed out on how much clomid they were giving her.

    DD conceived after 3 years of ttc.
    MFI - DH had varicocele repair and took Clomid to get DD b. 02/2010

    TTC #2 since 6/2010
    10/2012 DH diagnosed with Epilepsy
    A few failed IUIs summer 2012 and 2013. 
    DH taking clomid and waiting to see if he needs another vericocele repair. 
    Hoping for a 2015 baby or babies. 
    Wishing, hoping, waiting.

    Well gals, this was indeed a short stay. Update: My progesterone test on the sixth was negative. After a pregnancy test Jan 21 that was also negative, I started the Provera to induce my period. After a 10 day round of Provera, at 10 mg, I still had not started. On Feb. 5th, I noticed my breasts were very sore and even leaking. On the 6th, I called and talked to a nurse who said the sore breasts and lactation were probably from the Provera. I took another pregnancy test the same day...it was positive. We are expecting baby number 2! I am still so shocked I didn't have to take the Clomid. It took us nearly three years to conceive Lainey and it required surgery, and vitamins, and Clomid...but this pregnancy just hAppened! Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as we are still very early into our journey.

    I've been to the ER. Bleeding turned bright red. Probable miscarriage...trans-vaginal ultrasound showed a completely empty uterus. HCG level was only 111, indicating 2 weeks which doesn't add up to what should've been our conception date. Redoing HCG bloodwork Monday to confirm levels are dropping.
