And I don't mean "tell me what vacuum you have", I mean truly recommend your vacuum only if you love it. I need to buy one, and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. We've got a cat, too, so bonus if it's good on cat hair.
If you are just bored and want to contribute something but hate your vacuum, you can also make this thread a gif party. But only if that gif is Valentine's themed.
So, vacuums or gifs? Go
Re: NBR: recommend your vacuum
But for real I love this vacuum. We got it cheap from a cleaning lady who got it for wholesale price.
I may need to do some shopping.

I am going to put a roomba on my Christmas list for next year. I want to be able to vacuum the main floor daily with LO and the dog all over the floofloor - especially when LO starts eating real food. DH'S aunt has it and it works really well for pet debris.
I have a family member with the kirby and I will warn that one thing they mentioned is the fact that it ruins their carpets after a while. In each round they dump from the bagthey notice there are a lot of carpet fibers. Basically it socks so hard that it thins their carpet every time they use it. They still love it though because they know it gets their floors super clean.
Dyson Animal, hands down.
Also, their customer service is fantastic. DH couldn't remember when he bought it vaccum (it was before my time) and a part broke on the spinner thingy. He called up Dyson, they located his purchase history and send him a replacement part for free.

We can't afford Kirby's or Dysons. We're trying to stay below $200. I'm seriously eyeballing the shark navigator
