We've been looking at strollers for a while, and have finally nailed it down to the Uppababy Vista and the City Select. We like the Uppababy slightly better, but the duo-seats with City Select seem better. This is our first child, and although we do plan on having another one, I'm just not sure if we should base our decision on that just yet. Anyone has any opinions/suggestions?

If you want a single go with the UPPA, if you eventually want a double go with the City Select. That's the way I would make my decision if I was you. HOWEVER, with the UPPA 2011 sales, you're getting way more for your money (bassinet, bumper bar, rain and mosquito) as opposed to a select that is just the stroller. The negative I see is that if you had a 2nd and then needed a double (bc realistically the rumble seat just doesn't cut it) and wanted to sell your UPPA the resale is not going to be good. With their current sale on 2011s, I think they sort of killed their own future resale market. So if resale is something important to you because you may want a double, it's also something to consider.
We have a bjcs because I did not want a rumble seat when we went to using the stroller for 2, and I love that you don't lose the storage room when you go to a double (you do with strollers that have a rumble seat)
We tested both as doubles and singles and I just felt that the quality was better with the bjcs.

why spend money on a single stroller and then a double stroller later? This was our rationale and could not be happier w/the City Select! That is my vote. It is an amazing stroller as a single or double...win win!

On the flip side, the UBV really isn't built to be a double stroller. The rumble seat works in a pinch, but it's not good for everyday use. The UBV is a really great stroller, but it is also fairly big and heavy, and the fold is a little tricky. It's a "luxury" stroller and comes with a lot, but it's also very expensive. If you decide you want a single stroller, put the BJ City Versa on your list as well (that's the one we're going with this time - couldn't justify the cost of the UBV). It's a really nice stroller, more compact than the UBV with an easier fold, and even with buying the bassinet separately, it's still about $250 less than the UBV.
In the end, my advice is to really, seriously consider how far apart you might have children. If you definitely, for sure, know that you want them close together, get the BJCS, but I don't think that stroller is worth the size and bulk if you think you might have kids 2.5+ years apart. You may not know right now, and that's OK... I thought I would have kids 2 years apart, and I ended up not even close to ready for a 2nd until DS1 was almost 3... If you invest in a good single stroller now (like UBV), you can always resell it and recoup part of the cost if you decide you need a double later.
DD is 13 months old and #2 is on the way. They will be 19 months apart. I bought the UBV and while its a good quality stroller, I found it to be bulky and big. It's great for walks around the neighborhood but for errands etc. I always found it to be a huge pain. It's not super easy to get in and out of my car, takes up a lot of space, and have wide back wheels making navigating through smaller stores and areas hard. I know people rave about this stroller..but it's just my experience with it.
I'm kicking myself for buying it. We bought the Gluxe umbrella stroller and as soon as DD could sit up, we've used that over the vista because it's lightweight and easier. Now with 2 so close together I'm torn on what to do since the rumble seat configuration kind of stinks!
