movies

We have a brand new movie theater that opened about two weeks ago near me. I have heard of some theaters having days where parents can bring infants and see first run movies. none of the theaters around me do that and i wanted to suggest it to them. The guy who owns the theater has been very involved with the community and listening to peoples suggestions.

So my question is..for those of you that have theaters that do infant movie day events...what do they do? are the movies at the same volume...lights as dark?

am i making sense? lol

The one by us does that. They lower the volume and it's not as dark in the theatre. I've never been to one, but when J gets older, I will definitely take him.

  • Not as dark and volume lower. They do it once a week, I think Mondays at 1.

  • They do this at a really nice theater near us. I haven't been yet, but the website says they have the same as pp but also a stroller area and changing stations.

  • Am I the only one who thinks an entire theater full of babies sounds like hell on earth and almost definitely a complete waste of money?  lol

Lol! That considered, I still like the option of being able to see a movie. I just moved to a neighborhood that has a theater that serves dinner and sells beer. I'm excited for that date night!

Honestly, if DH and I are going to shell out for a movie, I'd rather shell out another $30 or so to pay a babysitter so I can watch it in peace lol

The theater by us also does a discounted ticket. I think it's $6.

  • The theater posted it on its Facebook page and got a huge response! they are going to do a trial on sat feb 1. I really hope it gets a good attendance. The only thing that sucks is i have to work on that saturday during the time they are going to show the movie.

What theater by us does that? I never really looked into it, but figured we didn't have any. Lol
We have a B&B theater in Wylie that does it!
