NBR: Canadians and history buffs, come in

Is anyone watching the new series Oak Island?  Now that I have more TV time I'm finding more things to DVR and DH and I are all about this one! I'm not Canadian but I'm a history teacher so this is right up my alley.  One side of me is totally intrigued by the possibilities and stories of the island, but the other side of me wants to use reason to explain each "clue" away.

Anyone else into it, from the show or even before? I thought I saw that there were some Nova Scotia ladies on here in another thread...

  • I am from Nova Scotia and actually grew up near Oak Island. I have been hearing stories about it all my life but have not yet seen the show. I will definitely have to check it out...my interest is piqued and being from small town Nova Scotia I always get a sense of hometown pride when my area gets featured in the media etc:)

  • I haven't heard of it but my DH loves history stuff and we are Canadian. What channel is it on? (Is that right? You know like nbc or CBC lol)

  • Canadian here too, but haven't heard of Oak Island. Will look this up though. Not from Nova Scotia, but I'm originally from Nfld, so always interested in learning about maritime history :)

  • I wont play in Canada on the Canadian history channel : ( hubby found a way to watch online tho!
  • So strange @bossyferg! It's about an island in Nova Scotia that is rumored to have treasures or possibly have something to do with the early Knights Templar fleeing France in the 13-1400s.  I'm hooked!
