3rd Trimester

Pain question

This is my second pregnancy, my first was with identical twin girls... so it has been a COMPLETELY different experience having only one growing on the inside.  When I was about 32 weeks with my first pregnancy, I started having pressure on my pubic bone, to the point where I had to sleep with a pillow between my legs to get comfortable.  I am 34 weeks along now and started having the same pressure this morning.  Is this normal because baby girl is moving into place?  My labor with the girls was so crazy... they were born at 35 weeks when I was being watched for pre-eclampsia in the hospital and my water broke.  I was fully dilated and had no idea (crazy, I know, but I had 0 labor pains).  I just want to make sure this pain is normal and not like I am already dialating or anything.  Thanks for any info that you could give me.

Re: Pain question

  • I'm 33w 3d and the baby is already in position.

  • Yes, that's normal.

  • I've been having pelvic pain, but it's not because of LO's position.   In your case, it could be.  Or it could just be RLP like mine is :-(  It seriously hurts like a mofo though.

  • 38 weeks today and mine started at 28 weeks. Soaking in the tub is my saving grace.
  • I started getting this pain towards the end of my 1st PG too... so I'd say it's normal. If you feel very concerned about it, I'd say it's worth mentioning to your OB/Midwife
  • I was having a lot of pelvic/hip pain and at an apt doctor told me my baby was laying transverse, meaning like a little hammock. He was laying so low it felt that he was inside pushing my pelvis bones with his feet spreading my hips apart, sometimes when I would push just above pubic bone it was hard as a rock.  He has since (thank god) hopped out of there and I feel like I can walk again.
