Kelly - I think your a Doctor, right?

LO has been put on Rice cereal per GI orders. 1 tbsp per 4 oz. Well ever since then he has slowly decrease the amount he eats and today he has only eaten 6 oz since midnight. He did have a 4 oz bottle(brings total about 10 oz) at 11 am and by 12pm he threw up all the bottle, he has never done that before. Does that sound like he has an allergy to it or is he getting sick? He is the same happy baby the only difference is that when he wakes up at night he screams bloody murder until he eats or is picked up. I'm going to call the doctor but they don't open up for another hour.

I think it has to be because he was fine before I put him on it last week.

He's had oatmeal(never in the bottle) before and has done great with with.

Thanks ladies! I called his GI Doctor and they said it cut out the rice for 12 hours and see how he does. They said the rice would feel him up more and there for he would decrease the amount he eats but I've only been putting 1 Tbps for his whole bottle so I feel like it shouldn't be cutting that much with that little bit of rice in it. He's drinking his first bottle without the rice so we'll see how he does with that.

Sorry I was a little late to the game! Hopefully he doesn't okay with his no rice bottles for a bit. You may have to gradually work up to the 1 TBS of rice cereal to get him used to it.

Yea, the first thing you do is rule out what it could be. GI Dr. is telling you all the right things to do. Is his poop normal? Is it discolored? All of this can be affected if he has an allergy. I would even suggest taking him off it for more than 12 hours- I was thinking more like 24 hours.

1.throwing up

2. diarrhea

3. exzema/red, itchy patches

4.hives

His poops are pretty normal, although his last none was really stinky but other that they are normal. I am going to keep him off of it for a while and trying to get everything straighten out with him first.

@42Butterflies - Thank you for checking! He is doing good. So far back to he normal eating and has even eaten a few bites of Bananas.
