TTC After a Loss

Surgery Update and Many Many Thanks

Hi Ladies,
First let me say a huge thank you to all you amazing women for all the messages, call outs, prayers and well wishes you have sent my way.  You are amazing and I feel overwhelmed by your love and support.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.

For those who are new or who maybe hadn't heard, I had gastric bypass surgery last Monday -exactly 1 week ago.  My RE suggested the procedure as not only a way to be healthier and lower risks for future pregnancies, but also as a way to help solve the metabolic dysfunction of  PCOS.  Quick update:

I went in on Monday with the plan to go home Tuesday evening.  The surgeon said the procedure went perfectly, couldn't have gone better.  Things were ok for awhile in the hospital but then I couldn't tolerate the narcotic pain killers and I was really sick on Tuesday which delayed my ability to drink fluids, walk, all those fun things you have to do to be able to go home.  So I went home Wednesday morning instead.  Most people get to go home with a liquid form of Lortab, but I got children's liquid Tylenol.

Recovery at home as been pretty good. I just get tired very quickly and am a bit sore, but I'm back to work today and feel better than I anticipated, prayers answered.  I lost 10 pounds in my pre-op 2 week diet and 15 pounds this week.  So I am optimistic for the future.

Thank you especially for my check-in leaders and members, I've missed you and you've been in my thoughts.  I apologize I haven't been online much this last week and haven't had the energy to go back through to catch up on all the posts and now that I'm back at work I don't think I'll have the time - forgive me as I just move forward.

One interesting note: I have been in another discussion forum for weight loss surgery patients as I researched and prepared.  On the day of my surgery I received 1 message from 1 person from that board.  I literally can't count how many messages I've received from you ladies.  Again, I am overwhelmed by the amount of love and support from you all.  Thank you.

  • Congrats on your surgery!
I'm so glad you're feeling good. The 1st week after my surgery I lost 11 pounds, it's a huge motivation to keeping going. My surgery has helped me get pregnant twice and while I have lost those, I would never even had the chance to have those angels if I didn't do something about my weight.

I hope and pray for your continued weight loss, you will love all the energy you will soon have!
