Someone gave us a cheap umbrella stroller as a gift which was okay for a bit, but now we really need something more durable with better wheels. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
We have the Chicco Liteway Plus. I like it since it is easy to put up and convert, though you probably don't need the Plus part since the car seat snaps into it. We have only used the stroller part once since we don't have a sitter yet.
We have the mamas and papas Sola stroller and it's fairly lightweight--made of aluminum (my other stroller is a double BOB so anything seems lightweight compared to that, ha!). I just love the maneuverability in the Sola, it is amazing! I have no problem in stores.
another vote for the chicco lightway or lightway plus. We have the plus, but now that most of the babies are almost out of the bucket, I think the lightway would be the way to go. easy to fold, but still sturdy enough for most outings. It's not quite as tiny as a regular umbrella, but it's close.
Bumbleride Flite here too. Lightweight at 14 lbs (and with an infant insert- it goes from infancy to 50 lbs). We bought it to use on Boston's T. It also has a car seat adapter. Gorgeous colors too.
We have the chicco liteway plus, as well. I have loved it for airplane travel - we've been on 4 round trips and it's perfect because it offers a way to transport the car seat as well as a "plain stroller" option.
However, I used it on the subway the other day for the first time and had to climb up and down the steps. It was pretty heavy and bulky - not really what you want in a "lightweight" stroller. For those of you that have it, do you find that it locks closed easily? I have trouble getting it hooked and staying closed.
So, I have mixed feelings on it. I really want an uppababy gluxe but there is no way I can convince DH to get a fourth stroller.

We use the Chicco Liteway and we like it. Its infant-usable because it does full recline (not that it's really an issue now). We have a convertible car seat so we got this stroller instead of a "travel system" one
Re: Recommend your lightweight stroller
I was thinking of getting the mclaren or the uppababy.
