fresh smelling laundry

Hello all! I am lurking from the TTC board. Wondering about laundry... we use a scent free detergent because scents upset my skin and lady parts. And we line dry everything. But our clothes don't get that fresh smell after the laundry. Any thoughts on what I can do to make clothes smell lovely and fresh!

    I will try that spray. We don't hang our clothes outside and I feel like it makes a big difference. I don't want the fake smelling chemical stuff, but I would like our clothes to have a fresher smell right after laundry!!! I put essential oils in our humidifier and it is awesome!

    I make my own detergent and it's so easy and cheap. If you want a smell you can put a few drops of essential oils in it. We don't use dryer sheets or softener and haven't needed to.

    We make our own detergent and use a little lavender essential oil in it.  :)

    Mix together 1c borax, 1c washing soda (not baking soda), and about 1c of soap shavings (I make my own soap so we use the little bits from cutting it into bars out of the mold, but you can also use a bar of fels naptha or ivory), then add a few drops of essential oils (I did a little satchet with some muslin and lavender from our garden, then have been adding the oil to that instead of the soap directly).

    My understanding is that enzymes are the ingredients that remove odors.  There are detergents available that are hypoallergenic, fragrance free, and contain naturally derived enzymes.  These should leave your clothes smelling "fresh", not fragrant.
