Baby shower gift

I need some ideas for a shower gift that a first time mom may not think of. Preferably smaller/medium size items because I am filling a bag. It will be split 3 ways so the total we will spend is around 100-150. I have a long ways to go. So far I bought a Zoli cup and Aden and Anais wearable blanket. Her registry has hardly anything on it and getting completed quickly. I know she is getting a lot of the basic and larger things handed down from her sisters and I'm just drawing a blank on my favorite items.

  • Oxyclean! How about a Moby? I didn't think I was going to want one but I loved it.

  • Sophie? Because she's cute. :-) Depending on their climate, a stroller weather shield/cover thing. Travel wipes case, maybe some Tide ToGo wipes or a stick for those spit-up/poo stains when out...that's all I have for now.

  • As a FTM, I had never heard of gripe water. Once DD was born and I saw other moms mention it on here, I ran out and got it, and it was huge for us! Both for gas and hiccups, which made DD raging mad. I try to include that in all baby shower gifts I give.
Love the idea of a moby. Once I figured mine out, I wore DD everywhere I could.
I also loved our carseat cover, which I got as a hand-me-down but it helped keep strangers from touching her or reaching for her.

  • A gift certificate to a take out place nearby. A saddle pod or swaddle me (loved mine!) a nice water bottle.....so thirsty those first few months! A nice house coat. I never thought I would like one but in e middle of the night it was nice to have a house coat to throw on or those early days when I was too sore to bother getting dressed it made me feel better about wearing pajamas all day.

  • Good burp rags. I had a spitter-upper and those so called burp rags did nothing for us. Gift cards for take out. Tommee Tippee bibs, the wipeable ones. So much easier when they start eating. Paci clips.

  • This may be more than you want to spend, but my go to gift is Happiest Baby on the Block. This was a LIFE SAVER for us!! Also if she is going to nurse you can get her some of the cream for the beginning or gel pads. I needed those too! I agree with the good burp cloths, we liked Aden and Anais and the Swaddle Pod or Swaddle Me.

  • A nose frida would be my go to gift. I'd never heard of it until I saw a post here. If she's planning to breastfeed, I'd get some lanolin and nursing pads. When I was pg, a friend suggested I get Tylenol, gas drops, gripe water - it was great to have all that on hand when I needed it, rather than making a mad dash to the store. Also, I got tons of J&J products at my shower and DS is too senstive to use any of it! I would recommend getting some more natural, fragrance free stuff. Before DS, I had no idea the J&J stuff wasn't good (that use to be my go to). If you are crafty, you could get some of the prefold cloth diapers and make some burp cloths. I sewed some cute flannel over the center panel and they work great!

  • Boogie wipes!  I laughed when I received them from a close friend as part of my shower gift but they are amazing!
