Contractions?

I'm 38+2 today and I know it sounds weird, BUT I'm having pains in my butt area? Lol. Like a sharp shooting pain in my anus? Idk if
I should take these as contractions..or just pregnancy pain. I'm a FTM & I have no idea about anything haha. Also, I'm starting to get pressure/pain on my inner upper thighs. TIA.

    I agree... i know contractions vary from woman to woman, but I've definitely never heard of contractions starting in your butt...

    The entire beginning of my labor was completely localized in my rectum and back. It wasn't until I reached about 4 cm that the pain began moving forward and felt more like a menstrual cramp from Hell. Although, I would say it was more of a bad aching/tightening/cramping feeling rather than a sharp stabbing pain. But yes, many women feel their contractions in their butt...it's actually quite common according to my OB.
