Intro and question about going off BC

Hello!  I am new to the board.  I've been lurking for a few weeks, and I really must say it's so nice to see how helpful everyone is on this board!  Anyway, DH and I are just starting TTC #1 - we are both age 36.  I was on BCP for many years and stopped taking the pills in September.  I started temping and tracking my cervical fluid in October, but my cycles are very irregular so far (anywhere from 22-34 days) and I never seem to get any egg white fluid - usually just 2-3 days of creamy fluid before my temp goes up.  I know it can take a while for cycles to regulate after stopping the pill, and I'm just wondering if anyone else has had similar experience and if the fluid quality might improve over time?  TIA for your thoughts!

    Welcome! My H and I just started TTC our first as well, and I will be 36 in March. I am in my 2nd cycle off BC, and thankful that my body seems to be adjusting pretty quickly. My 1st cycle was 26 days and this one is on track for the same. Hopefully yours will settle down soon!

    I know there are things you can do to increase EWCM but I haven't tried any of them. I'm sure others here will have more helpful information.

    Welcome! I'm pretty new here, too, but it's a great, supportive board. I'm TTC #2, but I too started TTC #1 after years and years on BC (and VERY irregular cycles whenever I took a break.) I never really noticed any EWCM while I was TTC, but my cycles did eventually regulate. I'm sure yours will, too, and I hope your stay here is short and sweet. Best of luck!

    December 2014: IVF #1.  Microdose Lupron protocol.  9R, 9M, 9F.  3 5-day blasts transferred 12/15. BFFN.
    April 2015: IVF #2.  Microdose Lupron protocol.  16R, 15M, 12F. Transferred 2 5-day blasts 4/12 and froze 4--BFP!  M/C 5/25/15
    August 2015: IVF #3.  14R, 13M, 11F.  Froze 5 blasts for CCS testing.  3 normals.  FET planned for 10/2015.

    Hi!  I'm also 36, been off bcp now for 8 months TTC #1.  I had very irregular periods and symptoms up until month 4.  Then I got EWCM, temps started getting more regular, etc.  I have ended up with a longer cycle and am just starting testing for various things this cycle.  As hard as it is, I do think you should wait at least 6 months from the bcp to see what your body does.  My doctor doesn't think I even ovulated until the 5th month after (3rd cycle after).  Good luck!! :)

    Don't know about BCPs... but lots and lots of water helps boost my EWCM.

    Me DX: Hashimotos,Hypothyroid, DOR, MTHFR,  DH: normal

     IUI #1-#4 BFNs and a few cancelled cycles in the mix.
    - poor responder
    ***Suprise BFP on 6/13/13. Natural MC @6wks 3days
    IVF#1 and 2- Cancelled due to no response on max stimms
    FET 5/20- BFP
    1st Beta- 641
    2nd beta- 2166
    Sono- TWINS!!!!
    Two Boys! Born January 2015 @36 weeks.  Healthy and no NICU!  So blessed!

    Welcome. Havnt been in BC in 8 years but I know that my cycles were wonky for a while after I stopped. I agree with pp about giving your body 6 months to adjust. After that I would contact your DR. For some blood work.

    Can't say anything about the bcp's and the cm because I haven't been on them, but hi and welcome!
    Many failed IUI's (medicated and unmedicated) IVF#1-Micro-dose Lupron protocol: BFN IVF#2-Antagonist Protocol-transferred 1 8-cell grade A embryo: BFP! Missed Miscarriage- D&C 4/2011 IVF#3-Antagonist protocol again but no bcp's: August 2011 DOR, endo and cervical stenosis ER 8/16/11 3 er 3 fert w/icsi ET 8/19/11-assisted hatching- transferred (2) 8 cell embryos! 9/1/11=Beta#1=824 9/6/11=Beta#2=7337

    It's good to know that other people have experienced the same thing and that 4-6 months is not unusual to let the cycles regulate.  Thank you all for your responses!
