Typically, I really like the lady I co-teach with, but today, I could have throat punched her. First, she knows only part of our fertility struggles. She is fully aware that we did IVF and FET and have spent more on fertility treatments than she spent on her house. She has always said that she would never, ever discuss pregnancy stuff with me because it would be rude. How nice, right?
Today, she came in my classroom and sat down to write lesson plans with me, or so I thought. When we were done, she said that the real reason she came over was...I knew it was coming. I put on my fake smile, took some yoga breaths (didn't work) and she said that she thought she was pregnant. She has taken 10 tests and they're all negative...huh? But, her boobs hurt, she puked, food makes her sick, and on and on and on and on. Her husband told her to ask me what I thought because I knew all about it. WTF?! I know how to pay doctors to get pregnant (not really since that isn't even successful) and not much about actually being pregnant. She has been pregnant three times in the past, so I have no flipping clue why she was coming to me.
She had called her doctor and they wouldn't see her because she is only on cd 29 and all of her tests are negative. DUH! So, trying to end the conversation quickly, I said to wait a couple days and test or call her doctor and ask to have an appointment to see why her period is late. What else was I supposed to say? I have NO IDEA, but the conversation kept going on and on. She said that the worst part (if she ends up being pregnant) would be having to tell me. Oh. Yes. That was really hard. She is getting negative tests and has already told me. And, she promised that she would never ever talk about being pregnant to me if she really is pregnant. Great. That sounds lovely.
So, now I'm in a huge pissy mood and taking it out on my husband. I just feel like a huge failure already and now this. I should have told her to shove it, shut up, leave my room, etc, but I'm not like that. I am very good at faking my mood. So, I think I'm gonna cry and drink a lot of wine. That is a warning for any other posts I put up tonight
Sorry for the rant, but I just don't know who else to complain to that will understand.
