Does your RE monitor clomid cycles?

My first cycle on clomid I had an u/s the day after a +opk and then a day 21 progesterone check. This past cycle, there was nothing. I'm now 17 dpo (cd 27) and they don't want to see me until I'm CD 29. I had a +hpt at 13 dpo but negative blood test. From what I'm reading, my docs hands off approaching isn't common. I did book an appt with a new re for a second opinion.

    That does seem strange. I just have a cd12 follie check, and trigger is based on those results. I think you're right on with meeting a second RE.

    Two DDs 10/08 and 08/10, no primary IF
    TTC #3 since 10/2011 - dx unexplained/weak ovulation
     3 BFN clomid + TI cycles, 5 BFN clomid/gonal f IUIs, 1 mmc IUI
    2/19/2014 IVF #1 Unexpected low E2 (oversuppressed) -> increased to max doses = 3 or 4 follicles, converting to IUI
    BFFP Saw 1 beautiful heartbeat at 6w6d, follow up u/s at 9w showed mmc. Eff this.
    NTNP 5/2014-9/2014, OPKs and TI 10/2014 - 1/2015. 
    RPL testing all normal, AFC, AMH, and FSH all normal. 
    IVF 1.2 1/22/2014 natural cycle start, AFC 28, 300 gonal f/150menopur. 
    ER 2/3/15 14R 8M 3F w/ICSI Day 5 transfer on 2/8/15 of one "Grade A+" blast and have TWO frosties!

    When I went in for the PCT, the nurse didn't see any follicles so they just assumed I o'd. I go this Monday to the new RE.

    I have never taken Clomid, but from what i have heard and seen, you should be monitored while on it.  Glad you are going to a new RE

    I did clomid with an OBGYN, not my RE. But she did a day 2 baseline ultrasound and a day 12 ultrasound to check for any follie growth. It never worked for me, so we didn't do any followup ultrasounds past day 12 since there was no growth at all. She did do some monitoring though and I think all cycles should  be monitored.
    I'm 29. DH is 29. 
    TTC #2 since 1/14
    DX= PCOS and Annovulatory
    Cycle #1- Failed IUI 5/12
    Cycle #2- Injectibles and TI- BFP 7/13/12. Due 3/2/13
    DS born at 31w3d on 1/19/13
    For this Child I Prayed...

    I'm on my second Clomid cycle and both have been monitored. I go in on approximately day 12 for monitoring (current cycle was wonky since I started Clomid on day 6.) I get an ultrasound and if all looks good, they administer the Ovidrel shot. If not, they call me with the protocol.
    BFP: 5/10/14 after 14 cycles of trying!
    EDD: 1/21/15
    5/12 1st beta: 28
    5/14 2nd beta: 87.5
    5/23: 3rd beta: 4000.6 + saw gestational sac and yolk sac
    5/30: 4th beta: 17,852 + saw fetal pole and heard heartbeat! 127 BPM!

    Am I reading this wrong, or did you seriously intro on this board AFTER you ALREADY had a + pregnancy test?? 


    You were 17DPO yesterday, with a + HPT at 13 DPO which would have been Jan 7, and you effing introed Fri, Jan 10. Wtf?? 



    OP go ask your questions on SAIF, or 1st tri.

    Can you read what you effing wrote up there??! You said you were 17DPO with a POSITIVE hpt on 13DPO, a negative blood test at 13DPO could be a qualitive test which tests for levels <25 and also doesn't mean shit unless you are specifically looking for early levels and not just a positive result. 

    Did you say anything about having your effing period up there?? I am not an effing psychic. All I know is what you tell me. 

    AND you actually DID start posting here when you thought because your so called positive HPT was on the 7th, you posted an intro on the 10th.

    My RE monitors every cycle but from what my friend said (she sees the same RE) once you have a successful cycle on a med (just no BFP) you can skip the ultrasound for a month or 2 as long as you keep the dose the same.

    Your RE should have monitored you before you O'd to make sure you didn't overstim on the clomid! That is one of the major reasons for monitoring! It doesn't do you much good to have your first ultrasound after you got +OPK.
