Antidepressants and the newborn

Has anyone had an LO with issues after birth due to you taking an antidepressant or other psych med during pregnancy? Any extra fussiness, feeding problems, or NICU stay? Thanks in advance.

Yes. I was on cipralex for my entire pregnancy, and before, and after. My son was hypertonic (arched, very jerky and stiff). It lasted about 5 days? He was already in the NICU for other things. I don't know if this would've warranted a NICU stay if it was the only issue.

This. But I did wean myself and was completely off it by around 25 weeks or so. No issues.

I weaned myself from Zoloft immediately after I found out I was pregnant. Must have been the pregnancy hormones but I honestly felt fine without it. At my obg's reccomendation I started back up the day after she was born. He said thay women who have depression and anxiety are at a huge risk for postpartum depression. I'm nursing and I don't notice any sort of tiredness or effects on the baby at all from it. I'm on a low dose- 50 mg. I know that its helped me with my patience and anxiety that I would otherwise be feeling so I'm glad I chose to get back on.
