I laughed at Talladega Nights. I just saw Anchorman 2 and was not disappointed, though it wasn't quite as good as the first one (which, by the way, is also my favorite move).
One of My guilty pleasures movies is center stage. It's such a bad movie, but I love watching it.
On a side note, Frozen was so good we went to see it twice. DD1 can now sing 3 of the songs all the way through.
I *love* Center Stage!
Hmmm I love a lot of bad movies. There's an old 80s movie with Nicolas Cage in it called Valley Girl. It's pretty awful but I love it!
I consider a "dumb" movie one that could have been good but its not bad enough to be good, it was just mis-handled. Like Below. Below could have been good but it was just... well, dumb. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kk57TzUtP88 The story was good, the dialogue and the way it unfolded was bad. The acting was okay but the directing was bad. But it wasn't bad enough to be good.
Then there are "dumb" movies that are good in spite of being brainless and written using the lowest common denominator of humor so that it appeals to everyone. These are becoming harder to find these days. Movies like Captain Ron and Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure fall into this category.
I could seriously write a whole series as a critic of bad movies. Its been something that I've been considering doing in the future.
Honestly, Tree of Life movie with Brad Pitt was just....horrendous. a complete waste of 3 hrs- or however long it was....seemed like it just went on and on and on, forever..... I was completely dumb-founded by the end of the movie. I couldn't believe I had just wasted all that time for something that made no sense to me. oh, and you haven't seen it, I'm begging you, PLEASE don't waste your time only to find out that you agree with me.
It's not dumb, like "oh, what a stupid guy movie". it just doesn't make sense.
Nacho Libre. DH made me go to the theatres with him and I was so unimpressed I fell asleep. Which I never do. And theatres are usually good for making you laugh more at funny movies because the people around you add to the energy.
Crash. That movie was so horrible I was actually angry about it. We lived in a sketchy neighborhood at the time and I walked that DVD to the mailbox at 11 p.m. just to get it out of my house.
It has been chosen as part of mandatory high school English curriculum in all schools in my state in Germany.
Actually, I really liked it I thought it showed both subtle and overt discrimination in every which way and showed that it's more complex than you might first think.
I have two on my list of horrible movies. One is "Screamers" - my poor dad was forced to watch it with a friend and I because it was rated R and we weren't 17 yet. Awful. Truly awful. And then "Ambulance," which my family rented once. It was about an ambulance (not an ambulance driver but the ambulance itself) trying to kill this guy, and he would go up an elevator and it would be waiting for him.
Also on the subject of horrible movies, I love me some Mystery Science Theater 3000

Re: Dumbest Movies
I am an odd duck. DH and I watch bad movies for fun. But we like them so bad that they are good. Like Samurai Cop:
