Healthy Snacks

So I"m 6 weeks, 4 days and I feel like if I don't eat every 2-3 hours I get really nauseous (and feel like I"m completely starving).  I'm trying to find healthy snacks to have around the house.  My go-to snacks are almond butter on wheat toast, cheese & whole wheat crackers or greek yogurt/cottage cheese & fruit.  I'm also drinking a lot of water with lemon. I"m looking for higher fiber and/or high protein ideas.  What are you ladies snacking on?

Re: Healthy Snacks

  • I like cheese sticks and celery with peanut butter. They are my two favorites right now.

  • raw broccoli or veggies w/ greek yogurt dip, string cheese, graham crackers w/peanut butter (really helps my sweet tooth), air popped popcorn, banana or apple w/peanut butter
  •  I like making hummous by blending up beans, garlic & a bit of oil

I use it as a dip at work for celery sticks or crackers

yes nuts are good too, I try to eat a few walnuts every day as I remember reading they are good for the baby's brain development, and a healthy snack

  • Love the homemade hummous idea and I'm going to have to pick up some string cheese now!  Thanks ladies!

  • I second (or fourth, I lost count) apple and peanut butter, I eat that every afternoon.  Also cheese sticks and I usually have one of those tiny bags of popcorn when I get home from work.  Yogurt fruit and walnuts or almonds is also a good snack.  I'll also just munch on cucumbers if I'm looking for a snappy snack.

Snickers, lil debbie cakes, lollipops, and flamin' cheetos.

oh wait, just saw you said healthy....sorry
  • I cannot get enough avocado to save my life. I cut it up and eat it with flavored Triscuits.

I've also loved greek yogurt, apples and pb, grapes and cut-up cheddar, and NutriGrain waffles with pb.
  • I just ate half a cucumber (but I dipped in ranch, so maybe that's not healthy anymore...)

  • Hardboiled eggs, cheese crisps instead or crackers (shredded cheese baked until crisp and cracker like, veggies and dip, ham and cheese roll ups, egg drop soup.
  • I took a cup of apple butter, a quarter pound of honey, a bunch of all kind of seeds and nuts, squished it all up together and dried it out and cut it into bars.  It is really helping to have something to eat when I'm trying to figure out how to feed the hunger beast.  Also, it has a lot of fiber, which is really good right now...
