Trying to Get Pregnant

Food just doesn't taste so good...

Hey girls. So I just wanted to know if anyone has heard anything about this or has experienced it...

I just started TTC this month, my period is not due until the 19th. So too early to test.

I don't get nauseous and I've been eating basically the same.... but food is just not tasting as good as it usually does.  After eating my stomach just feels "funny."
I've been experiencing this for about 5 days. I also just got off a 10 day round of amoxicillin. Could it be the antibiotic or pregnancy or in my head? Hah!  I know there is no way of knowing for sure until I test....but I just wanted to get y'all's thoughts!

As I'm typing this my stomach is turning a little....ugh! Maybe it's just in my head!

Thanks!!

You're either sick or feeling side effects from your medicine. I know ttc can be a mind fuck, but it sounds like it's too early for you to have pregnancy symptoms. Feel better!

  • Yes, antibiotics can certainly cause nausea.

  • If you are pregnant enough to have symptoms then you are pregnant enough to turn a test positive.

There are some people who experience this as a symptom of pregnancy, but plenty of others that do not. Everyone's body handles things differently. You won't know if this is a pregnancy symptom for you or not until you POAS.

  • I sure hope I'm not getting sick again! Oh gosh... well I'll keep an eye on it.  I've been off the antibiotic for about 3 days.  I don't temp yet, btw, I'm sure I will in the near future....I just read in the book I'm reading "What to expect before you're expecting" that you can have symptoms before a positive test...so it just made me think.....

I appreciate all of your input!
  • I would just like to thank TB for offering me hours of entertainment today while I was hungover and/or sick.

    I hope you're feeling better.

Aww, thank you! I'm definitely feeling better than I was this morning. I'm still feeling kind of shaky, but DH is making me soup, so I'm a happy girl.

  • Dang. I feel like I've should have taken a college course on this before TTC! Hah! There are so many mixed messages out there about symptoms... I thought I was pretty familiar enough with my cycle but I guess not. Glad I could put a smile on some of your faces!  ;D

I've got a long way to go!

There is a comment above by someone about my "discussion" being 'entertaining'....which is fine. That's all I meant by making ppl smile. I know I really don't know much at all about this stuff right now.

Sorry for bringing it up at all..

I didn't know much either at first. Spending time lurking on this board, reading the Newbie Blog and all the tutorials on Fertility Friend really helps! Good luck!

This is not the place to go to if you would like us all to tell you that you are like totally knocked up! Take a test if you think you might be pregnant.

I definitely would recommend you read Taking Charge of Your Fertility over What to Expect. TCOYF teaches you how to temp and chart and recognize changes in your body over the course of your cycle.

    Good luck
