So we have been TTC for six months now. I used OPKs for three of those months, and only once got a positive result. I'm not temping (it would totally freak out my husband and make this feel like a science project).
I'm thinking about taking 150-160 mg of soy isoflavones on days 3-7 of this cycle- is anyone else doing this? Should I wait until I see my midwife after trying for a year, or is it safe to try now?
Re: Soy Isoflavones after 6 months TTC
I would highly recommend temping. Without temping, you never know when you ovulated. Yes, OPKs are helpful but they only show an LH surge, not that you actually ovulated. Also, you might need to use OPKs more often (like twice a day) to catch your surge.
I did take soy isoflavones, here's what happened:
1. took 200mg CD 1-5. Ovulated on CD17. Got pregnant. Miscarried at 8w6d (blighted ovum).
2. took 200mg CD 3-7. Ovulated on CD9. Did not get pregnant (I think I O'd too early).
3. took 200mg CD 1-5 again. Ovulated on CD11. Got pregnant, am still pregnant now. Looking good.
It's recommended to never take anything without consulting your doc first, but I did it anyway. It's ultimately up to you what you take.
TTC since 2010

FET currently on hold
wow, your siggy is longer and more detailed than your long and detailed post.
No, I can't prove it. But I did get pregnant 2/3 cycles while using soy isoflavones, and I didn't get pregnant the other 7 cycles that I didn't use soy.
You also got pregnant without them with your son and daughter, correct?

That is correct. Like I said, I'm not saying they are the 100%-guarantee-to-get-pregnant pill, I just said it worked for me this time.
What? Ran to an ER for u/s? Please, tell me this is an exaggeration.
The full story is that I had betas done, and the last one slowed WAYYYY down (and even though I know it is supposed to slow down, I felt it slowed too much down). My OB was on vacation and my family doc wasn't available, so the office told me to go to a walkin or the ER. I went to the ER.
I have since said I realized I overreacted but what's done is done.
And because I'm sure someone else will link you to it, here:
