Summer infant bath tub

DH and I wanted to give Ariella her first bath and I am feeling stupid right now.

We have the summer infant tub with the sling. With the sling it doesn't seem as though it's low enough to partially submerge her in water... Shouldn't she be sitting in an inch or two of water?

Can someone please give me some tips?

    Our sling didnt go into the water either. No clue ...

    I'm having the same problem. The most I get is his bottom sitting in water. I hate this bath. It does not work well for an infant

    :-( so what have you guys done? Just taken the sling out?

    At this rate I guess we'll leave the bath to tomorrow, but this sucks!!!

    I use the sling but I'm constantly having to reposition him and I cover his body with a washcloth and keep pouring water over it when it starts cooling off. He absolutely hates baths and I think it's from not sitting in enough water and being cold.

    I just don't use the sling. Put the baby in the water. Hold the baby with 1 hand, wash with the other. The sling just makes the baby cold in my opinion.

    We don't use the sling and bought a little yellow body sponge thing at Target that we put in there instead. It stays warmer and we constantly pour warm water on her. Either that or I get in and hold her for bath time (sans baby tub)

    Our sling is adjustable, but when she sits in it her weight stretches it out and she's in the water completely. I do have to say its a PITA tho, because the mesh gets slippery with soap on it and she slides everywhere.

    Our sling is adjustable. I adjusted it where she is half in the water and she always throws her legs over the side so they are in the water. She absolutely loves it!

    How old is she? You can still do a sponge bath for a little bit too until you figure out the tub situation. I do both. I let the shower run on hot to get the bathroom nice and warm. I keep a folded up beach towel by the sink and lay her on it and sponge bathe her out of the basin from there.

    Or I use the Angel Care bath support in the tub. Same thing, I let the shower run on hot to get the room nice and warm then fill up the tub a couple inches and kneel in the tub with her. I always keep a larger a+a washcloth over her for comfort and then bath her with a smaller one. She loves it!

    We don't use the sling either but I have the problem of the tub being slippery and DS starts to slip to one side or the other while I'm trying to wash him. I can't wait until he's old enough to sit up a little bit.

    This is what I've been doing. DD does ok. I've been contemplating just putting her in though.

    Alright. DH and I will try to just out her in tonight without the sling. I'm nervous. I probably shouldn't be, but I am.

    I use the sling, make the water very warm, and keep the bath time very short. I use a cloth to drip water over her and wash her down, and she usually sticks at least one foot in the deep water. It works well for now.
