LO does not. Really at all. He responds to our voices, but not his name at all. It probably doesn't help that we call him little man or mr man most of the time. Daycare called him by his first name where we use his middle name, so he hasn't had a chance to make the connection between his actual name and people talking to him. Or maybe I'm just trying to make myself feel better about this one ;-)
Yeah. And nicknames. I honestly thought a baby would be like a dog and know their name in a few weeks. When she didn't, I thought that there was something wrong with her. I've learned otherwise.
Yes! We discovered this last week. She was playing with her toys in the floor and looking down and I experimented: "Sarah!" Nothing "Brittany!" Nope "Olivia!" No "Eleanor!" Her head popped up and she looked at me and DH with a big smile. We were so excited.
I think he just responds to our voices. My husband is obsessed with him learning his name though and will say it over and over. And it annoys me because I think it sounds like he's talking to a dog...
He seems to DH is also convinced that he knows I am mommy, but I am not 100% sure yet.
Eta: DH was calling him so many different random things (bugaboo-banana?!?) that I finally told him he had to use his real name sometimes or he might never learn it.
I just said my daughters name numerous times to see if she looked over at me and nothing! She was staring at our new puppy chewing on a VERY LOUD squeaky toy so who knows. She will usually always look at us when talking. We rarely call her by her actual name. (Josie)
Yup! She looks at us when we call her Mackenzie or Kenzie. She also knows her nickname which is Goose and will look our way with a big smile as well. She is called goose because we were always calling her a silly goose which got shortened to goose and has stuck ever since.
I'm pretty sure he does. Sometimes when I talk to him, he doesn't always turn and look at me. And then I will say his name, and he will usually turn to me right away.
I don't know! Now I want to try and see. I know she responds to our voices. I think she looks at me as soon as I start talking so I'm not sure how to tell.
I guess I should answer the actual question ">
Same as Samantha Ashley. Not sure if she's responding to her name or just our voices. I told the nurse no on the questionnaire and she said it was a dumb question anyway!
